Received this moments ago. Upon removing from the shipping bag, the box had written on it: "WARNING: Cancer and Reproductive Harm". Cheap pressed board is sometimes made with certain chemicals like formaldehyde.I donned latex gloves and turned on the kitchen fume hood and then opened the box. I was glad to see the dowels and screws (some people have noted they didn't receive them). The dowels were both slightly different sizes and didn't fit properly in the holes. They are mostly there to prevent the sides from rotating, not holding them in together. Putting in the screws holds the sides solidly to the frame, with minimal movement when pressure is applied.The gold paint used for the dragon had a few flecks on the front in places other than where the dragon is, but I can probably scrape those off if I'm careful and not damage the lacquer. Also, one of the holes for the screws was blocked and I had to puncture it with scissors. A minor procedure that took a few seconds. There were no scratches. Putting it together took about 3 minutes.It can hold my 2.55 shaku iaito and white oak bokken with no issue. It's even and doesn't tip over even when I try.Dimensions are 12.75' x 3.5' x 9' (LxWxH)Overall, I think it's a good solid sword holder. Most sword stands on Amazon have a Chinese aesthetic to them, and I was glad to find this one. While made in China, it has a Japanese aesthetic (notice the dragon's three toes). It looks like quality from far, but upon close inspection one can see it's just slightly uneven. For instance, for the middle piece, the sides of it are slightly more rounded on one side. But one must really pay attention and be a true critic to find this as a flaw. One isn't particularly buying this for the artistic value, but for the aesthetic and function. For function, it serves its purpose well. Is it worth the 50$ I paid for it? I'd say, sure. Though it feels a few dollars overpriced.Beware if you have children that likes to touch all the things, or an expectant mother as the warning shows that it can release carcinogens (albeit probably at a really low level).Rating: 4/5It fulfills its purpose well, but uses dangerous chemicals and has some minor quality flaws.

Exactly as displayed, nice enough material for the price, took maybe three minutes to assemble it. Sword looks great on it.

Nicer than I was expecting, I wasn't sure if the quality would be there but it's VERY nice and looks fantastic and holds my japanese swords perfectly on my shelf.

Excellent Katana stand. Well constructed, sturdy, easy to assemble and very nicely finished. A nice piece of functional furniture for under $30cdn. I recommend and just bought a second one.

Read some reviews on other similar sword stands which some had a few negative reviews about the finish and workmanship. This one was exactly what I wanted, nothing too fancy, just something that is decent that I can mount on my wall to display my sword. It has a high-gloss black finish, came with no dents/scratches. Super simple to assemble, and looked exactly as the picture shows. I would recommend this product to anyone. Also, I believe the bracket going horizontally is reversible, so if you don't like the logo you don't need to have it showing in the front as the backside is fully painted as well.Nitpicks:1. Besides the screws, there are pegs for the stand that are hidden. The holes drilled for them are way way way too large, or the pegs themselves are way way way too small for the holes. Can fill the gap with something, but I assembled the stand and the pegs didn't seem to be necessary, the stand is pretty solid so no need for me to fill in the gaps.2. Screws are silver/metallic which doesn't bother me that much, but would be nice if the heads were blackened or if the stand came with some black plastic caps to go over the screw holes.3. The felt wasn't perfectly fitted so I had to peel them a bit and readjust them. They are pretty sticky so I didn't need to re-glue them.
