Very well packadged and presented with complete tools and explanations .My 8 year old grand daughter adored it and so did my son, her dad, provided them with exciting after dinner science projects that were completely do-able without big messes and unattainable results. They were just proud of doing it right and learning while having fun!

We haven’t used this much. It’s supposed to be a fun daily activity, but what I didn’t account for was that it required additional ingredients and materials for most of the experiments. If we didn’t have them on hand, that days advent calendar activity wasn’t completed. My seven year old ended up giving up. We will keep it activities, but this was not doable for a busy family during the holidays. I wouldn’t recommend this at all-what a disappointment.

Lots of good ideas. There were some errors in the instructions (eg it said baking powder, should say baking soda) and some experiments did not seem to work. Some proofreading issues. You do need a pretty well-equipped kitchen! Could be really awesome with a revision of the book and better troubleshooting/testing of the experiments. However my kid had a lot of fun with some of the experiments.

Great science experiments, good information book so you know what you’re doing, and I even learned a bunch as an adult! Wish I had these when we were younger!

This has been an enjoyable project for my 7 year old son. He’s learning new things each day, retaining the info and able to share the concepts later. It’s been a great way to do something engaging together each day. My only complaint is that many days parts are lacking that they expect you to have on hand. For the price I expected it to be more complete. For example, on day 12, one of the needed items is a fizzy tablet, it is neither provided or elaborated on what type. I now need to go to the store to try and find one. Other days you need to have or buy things like a ping pong ball, or a kitchen scale and there are no options for if you don’t have the items.

If the kid that you're gifting likes to do science, then this is the gift for them. Some of the experiments were a tad simple and some were plainly cheap, but what was truly excellent was the written instruction booklet. And a couple of the harder to source items like the various powders.

I bought this advent calendar for my 12 year old son who likes science but would have much preferred an advent calendar with chocolate. But I resisted and got this. He was reluctant at first, but now he gets straight to the experiments in this calendar each day. The whole thing has been so well thought out and wonderfully presented. The experiments are fun and do-able at home in about 10 minutes or less (sometimes with a little parent help). There's a great booklet that goes with the activities and provides the instructions as well as scientific explanations and background information. Overall, I highly recommend.

My son doesn't like candy (I know right? who doesn't like candy?!), so every year picking an advent calendar for him is a challenge. We have done the Thomas the train one (when he was 3), we have done Paw Patrol toys, Disney ones, but at 6, he is no longer interested in little "toys" anymore, and due to Covid, I did not have the chance to collect things to make my own advent calendar for him, so even though this product says it's for 8 and older, I decided to give it a try.My husband usually does it with him so I think it's perfect even though he can't quite read the instructions yet or do it by himself. It's their bonding time together (yes, give mama a break! and honestly I think my husband really enjoys it). We are 14 days into it, and while some of the experiments are okay, some are really fun. Each box after you opened it can be flipped and put back into the box and at the end of the 24 days will turn the board turn into a board game. Obviously we're not quite there yet, but so far I am very pleased with the experiments included. Each day's kit take about 2-5 minutes to complete so it's not like those science kit that get a little overwhelming.I would recommend others to start looking into buying around October though, which is around the time we purchased it. Otherwise I see the price of these advent calendars skyrocket around November. It's ridiculous. Overall I would recommend this to any family with a kid who likes science experiments (and since most things we just throw away at the end there is no hording of little toys that will never get played with again).
