Easy to learn how to play instruments

There are a lot of great songs here. Sometimes the key is little bit of problem for me so I end up singing harmony. I like that fact that a musical lead is shown to get the tune right as well as the timing.

I favour music published between the the late 1920s and the early 1950s. There is much such music. There is music that I am not much interested but the number of songs leaves much stimulating material. There is also a range of more recent music including a number of Beatle songs. The songs are well set out, easy to read with chord diagrams easily accessible above the song. Quite expensive though a small number of children's songs at the back of the book were water damaged.

I have all 4 big books now, this one looks like a lot of fun with some old time new ones and some kids songs . I don’t see tabes , but I see some easy cords and words to the songs . This one is smaller but still packed full of fun songs to learn . Can’t wait to get started .

I loved the effort that was put into selecting the songs (very varied. from pop to traditional), the quality of the edition (crisp printing, no typos). It also includes the fundamentals of ukulele, and a page with all the chords you will need to play. The arrangements of the songs are very tasteful and interesting. The pages can be very easily turned, and the book remains open thanks to its plastic spine. The first note of each song on the ukulele is also included for those who are not reading the melody on the staff. Very highly recommended, both for beginners and advanced players!

There is something for everyone in this book! The mix of songs is quite wonderful - some from movies, some from the top of the charts from many different decades. I could sing along with my Grams , my parents, and my siblings - there were multiple songs that we all knew. There is also a variety of levels - from beginner to intermediate. It is a heavy book, but the coil binding makes it easy to lay flat when it's open & stay open. Two things I would say could be improved:1) The font for the words is very small, so if you're sharing to book (especially without a music stand) - even with someone right beside you, it can sometimes be difficult for both people to see the words. Obviously, the fonts were chosen so that each song only takes up one or two pages, so you don't have to turn the page, but it was one of the only things I didn't like.2) The book is so heavy that my middle-of-the-road music stand is useless - the book had it crashing to the floor repeatedly...So, make sure you have a sturdy music stand. :)Oh - and too many Beatles songs...but apparently, I'm a minority in that department. Lol.

Now, this book is a must! Just for the sheer number of songs! I would say it will be very very useful when you have mastered more your ukulele. There are some beginner notions, but they will be more as reminders. It can be a very useful friend in a party to skip from one song to the next, all the songs have the lyrics, very useful!!! I highly recommend this music book. It is not cheap. But worth every penny.

I love this songbook! When I ordered it, I was a beginner at playing the ukulele, and this book was very easy for me to pick up and comfortably learn to play a variety of songs. It has the necessary cords displayed above the title of each song and shows when to play each cord throughout the song. The selection is great as there are many that I have previously heard, and most are popular enough that I could search online to learn the tune. I would definitely recommend this book to a friend.

I am a new ukulele player. I received a ukulele from my son for Mother's Day. Here it is just 2 months later, and I am really enjoying it. I had no experience with this instrument prior to receiving this gift. I am able to play a number of songs from this book. Yes, there are songs for intermediate players also, so those will be my challenge to learn. This book will last me a long time, if I try to play and learn every song in it. Which I intend to do. There is a big variety of music types that make it suitable for a Ukulele Club too. If you play the guitar, this book is for you also. My son plays both the guitar and ukulele and uses this book for both instruments. This book will allow me to play a variety of songs, so when I play for other people it will be a lot of fun.I really love the spiral binding and the book lays flat. The songs are all on the same page, so there is no turning of pages when you are playing a song. I love the chord boxes at the top of each song which clearly shows how to play the chord on the ukulele. If I am unfamiliar with a particular song, I go to YouTube and look it up. Someone is either singing or playing that song. Then I go back to the book and I can usually play the song. But what was even more valuable for me was the Introduction pages. There is one page in particular which shows 3 ways to play a Bb chord, which is usually very difficult for beginners, including me. This opened up my world and makes it possible for me to play more songs than I thought possible. Also, there is a tip on playing the G chord and being able to change to other chords effortlessly that are not in other books. There are more tips, but these two tips have helped me accelerate my playing to a new level.I also purchased the Leap Year book and I am looking forward to getting it. If the author writes another book, I will buy it too. I recommend using these two books, which will give you over 700 songs. Its cheaper than printing these songs off the internet (if you can find them).
