14-Piece 8-Inch Carbide Stacking Dado Blade Set (416381) (2) 8" x 24T Carbide Saw Blades (1) 1/16" Chipper Blade (4) 1/8" Chipper Blades (7) Metal Shims Instructions Durable case . MIBRO's 8" Stacking Dado cuts clean edges, square shoulders and flat bottoms. Use the Dado to cut smooth and precise flat-bottomed grooves, either across or with the grain in all types of wood, plywood and composite wood materials. It's ideal for the DIY, home or woodworking enthusiast, and light professional user. Cut grooves ranging in width from 1/4" to 13/16", increasing in 1/16" increments. Can make a variety of different cuts, including Dado, Groove, Rabbet, Fillet, and Mortise & Tenon. Blade Technology For both the outside blades and the chippers, each tooth is electronically welded onto the blade body by fully-automated equipment from Germany. This ensures exact, centered placement and the correct amount of brazing material. Extra large carbide teeth make for longer lasting blades and overall life. Premium carbide helps to ensure the carbide does not chip or fracture easily. 8" Outside Cutting Blades The two outside cutting blades have an 8" diameter with 24 carbide teeth. Both blades have a tooth pattern of 5 beveled cutting teeth, followed by 1 straight raker tooth. The anti-kickback tooth profile prevents the blade from being fed material too quickly. 5 Chipper Blades Set includes one (1) 1/16" Chipper and four (4) 1/8" Chippers. Each Chipper Blade features two extra-large carbide teeth, which are also electronically welded onto the blade body by fully-automated equipment from Germany. The Chipper Blades are ground on the same equipment, at the same time, as the Outside Blades. This ensures that all of the blades together will cut a flat-bottomed groove.7 Metal Shims Use the seven included metal shims for fine adjustments to the overall width of the Dado setup. Shim widths range from 0.004" to 0.096". All of the shims have a 3-5/32" diameter and 5/8" arbor hole.

I was dumb enough to buy this twice. Both sets had chipped carbides on the blades and chippers. Absolutely will not cut a flat bottom. Useless dado set for joinery. Go for something from a better brand.

It would have been a lot better if the product was in a smaller box with bubble wrap... rather than a big box bouncing around.. other wise very happy with the product. Looking forward to using it.

This stack is surpisingly decent for the money. But the setup instructions might be confusing to a dado newb so I can't help but wonder if some of the bad reviews were from users that misinterpreted the instructions the way I almost did & set up the blades incorrectly. When the blades and chippers are oriented properly, they cut smoothly and very flat. On box joints, the shoulders are pristine and the bottoms are pretty darn smooth & very flat. And little to no tear-out when using a backer board. Light sanding is to be expected, but very little cleanup work. I almost got the blade orientation wrong based on the vague way in which the instructions describe orientation of the blades, but a quick & obvious rethink made more sense. If you're reading this and opt to buy these blades, despite the lack of specific instructions within the manual, each of the outer blades are to be oriented with they're printed sides facing out opposing one another - the inside blade facing out to the left of the saw and the outer blade facing out to the right of the saw - and the teeth facing down towards you when you're standing in front of the saw. And the chipper teeth obviously are facing the front as well. The outer blades right out of the packaging appear to be the same and they are not labeled inside/outside or left/right, but they can only be oriented one way in which the labels are both facing out away from each other and the teeth facing you/pointed down at the front, if that makes sense. You'll see. I'm very black and white and literal so it took me a minute but most people probably won't read it the way I did. Although had I put them on the way the diagrams suggest, the results would have been the unevenness, scorching, and tear out that many have complained of. Also, it's tempting to go slow with these blades because there's so much material being removed, but if you go too slow you will definitely scorch the wood and leave melted resin on the blade which spontaneously will dull it. And then all the cuts will suck. So move through at a fairly normal pace. Making multiple passes if necessary. But I went through three quarter inch yellow pine in one pass and the joints were pretty flawless. Little to no cleanup.I've done half inch dados & box joints with this stack & so far the results have been excellent. No regrets spending half the money on these instead of Freud or DeWalt. Highly recommend. Also recommend keeping them clean for optimal performance. Stiff brush with WD40 works well. Peace.

the blades are not matched what i mean by that is some cut deeper than the others so you do not have a flat bottom. not the best for making a box joint i will add that also.

It's been two years since I bought this. I don't use dado blades very often and I wanted to wait until I had a reasonable amount of experience with it before I wrote a review. Having now used it in various woods from pine to walnut, and at most of its possible widths, I can say that I am fully satisfied. The blades and chippers leave a nice, smooth-bottomed cut. Works as expected, and not much else that can be said.

At first glance, it seemed to be a very good dado set. But after opening it up, I found a couple of the teeth had chips out of them. 1 chip was on the outer blade and the other one was on the 1/8 inner chipper blade. I was going to send it back but I thought it would take too long for a replacement. So I went ahead and used it anyways and it turned out to cut fairly well. Only reason why I gave it a 4 out of 5 was because of the chips out of the teeth blades. The delivery was fast and well packed. I ordered it on a Sunday and it was delivered by the Tuesday. I would recommend this dado sets and if had to, buy it again. Hope this helps

The first side of my she'd that I recovered with fence board, the board shrank so much that I knew I needed to use a dado join for the front. This was a great investment - I'm happy with my project and it can expand and contract without seeing the ugly old shed underneath. I should mention, I needed to borrow my dad's table saw because mine doesn't have a long enough bolt to hold the number of blades that I would be using.

I was supposed to receive it on Friday the 19th, surprisingly I received it yesterday Tuesday the 16th!I checked all the contents, I received all the 14 pieces, no evidence of any defects. My previous experience doing dadoes was at a furniture company working with an old Tannewitz table saw, so far the tests that I have done this morning seem to be of a similar quality, of course I cannot get it to go as wide as I used to do it in that old Tannewitz. For the home woodworking that I do, I think it is quite sufficient. I think it is worth it for the price, I do recommend it.
