The Stretch Strap is as effective as contract-relax partner stretching at increasing flexibility without the need for a partner. A step-up from a traditional elastic resistance band allows for more targeted stretching. The elastic stretching device delivers a more effective 'dynamic' stretch vs. static stretching or static stretching devices. A dynamic stretch is an active stretch that moves the muscle in it's full range of motion and isn't associated with a loss in strength or performance like some studies may have shown with static stretching. I bought this really as a leg strap to help lift my right leg into my suv because I need a hip replacement. The stretch fabric is super and it works great getting in and out of the vehicle. Secondary, it’s great for leg stretches which I need to do to keep my hip moving. The exercise booklet included provides a great stretching exercise program. This is well worth the investment.

I would give this a higher rating, but the vendor's package didn't arrive for 2 weeks (!!) What's with that? Did they use "snail rate"? Very frustrating for the delivery delay. Nonetheless, the product itself is great. Very useful for stretching hamstrings and other muscle groups that are hard to stretch without a problem. I use it every day. Good, durable construction makes it appear to last many years.
