Had an old single element water heater with a broken thermostat. All the stores around me only had the normal double element thermostats. Didn't want to use the wrong part so this was the perfect replacement and worked great.

This element fit perfectly on my water heater that is from 1993. Still working kept me from purchasing new water heater. The install took 10 mins turn breakers off and connect all wires. Easy peasy for a girl.

This will work fine in a single element water heater , just take a picture first of wiringand naturally turn off to the water heater .The thermostat unsnaps for removal , reads tempertature from backside of thermostat.its a good idea to replace it when doing the heating element.was much cheaper than a new waterheater, if it doesnt leak but no hot waterits typically the heating element or thermostat .Be aware the heating elements can be a bear to remove , depends on corrosion ,I lucked out mine was basically hand tight.

Installed this in my 8 year old Kenmore "Economizer 6" 40gal 240v single element water heater model #153.318132. The owner's manual listed part number was 9002300.The Kenmore parts people wanted $40 and 2-3 weeks just to get the part (what do you mean weeks? This is my hot showers we're talking about here!) plus $99 if you wanted to schedule a service call to have it installed.But this cost $16 from Amazon and came in two days. It matched perfectly and was a snap to install. Four connections, 15 minutes, no doubts. Tools needed: Phillips screwdriver. Performs as expected.Happy puppy here.
