This is only SOUND activated. You need a VERY loud clap sound or almost shouting level talking to set it off. Motion activated would have been a better option for me. When triggered it chirps VERY loudly (unless you live in a place with loud ambient noise or are hard of hearing, you are going to want to plug some of the speaker holes with some tape). The animation is great and base is pretty nice too. Sounds like a bird but does sing unnatural songs at times. The bird plugs into the base for power, it cannot be removed from the base and still function. Shipping was slow for me.

You can’t adjust the sound from high tonlos and is not realistic sound.

Not sure what all those 5-star reviews for, but what you get is not same as what you see in the video of the ad. This bird doesn't move like it's seen in the video, neither makes those melodious chirping sounds. Pathetic!

You know I never like to say anything negative about the product, perhaps it’s in the marketing. Where does it state in here that it will chirp 3 different nursery rhymes? It doesn’t!I watched videos of other buyers and theirs sound so wonderful and natural, that’s what I wanted. I have embellished it with more greenery therefore I am stuck with it. Would have loved it for my decor in sunroom but will not turn it on because I m embarrassed, I have no kids. Please correct your info.

This bird sings for a sufficient length of time, not just a few seconds like others of different litters. And it moves and looks so convincing that my 7-year-old daughter took a step back when she heard it the first time.
