We lit the candle, put it in the water and the pop pop boat worked for about 10 seconds. It pop popped across a bowl and then stopped popping. We tried to get it going again for about 40 mins and then I took out the little pressure chamber, but could see that the seam had failed. Perhaps I'll solder it some day, but my son was pretty disappointed. I blame the build quality.

When I was a child, one of my friends had one of these. I always thought it would be fun to own one, but never did. It is a toy that requires constant adult supervision, as you can easily be burned by the candle, or by steam, if improperly used. It makes a pop-pop sound when it scoots across your bath tub or pool. Originally, these were sometimes called pop-pop steam boats. Simple, but yet fun to watch.

Does what is says. Kinda messy inside after running. Lots of candle wax all over that has to be removed.

It's a little boat that accelerates intermittently and not constantly.

Works as advertised. Nothing that’s going to last forever, but fun to play with nonetheless.
