Already had a couple of these cameras installed in my backyard since a year now and never gave me problems. Image quality is good and remains like that even after zooming in. I tested both storage supports -cloud and sd card- and they worked extremely well, even though a separate subscription is needed to use the cloud which worth the price due to the added capabilities to the push motion notifications. Its night vision, despite the selected mode, works as expected, triggering the alarm and automations linked in the Tapo app. Mountability was easy as well, even a guide is provided to do the holes precisely.

This is a very inexpensive quality security cam. It offers flexibility in how you want to use it. You have the ability to use it with your smart phone and install localy (store videos on a memory card or you can subscribe to their web storage for a very small fee. I have my cams connected to a BlueIris server and the PTZ functions perfectly. The video and audio is very good. The setup is not complicated becuase you use the Tapo application on your smart phone -- just follow each step as instructed and let it do its thing. Once install on the app you have the option in setting it up for Onvif if needed.Tapo is owned by TP-Link -- a well known brand that has not disappointed me so far. All my TP-Link routers (and other gadgets) have performed better than the other brands that I have owned. A very good reliable company.

Excellent Products, Outstanding Customer ServiceAfter starting with a competitive (and yes, cheaper) competitor's camera, I decided to try Tapo because I have several TP-Link devices and a WiFi router already installed in my house, and they have performed flawlessly.Good decision! My first Tapo camera choice was a wired C510W, which I wanted for our front porch, This Pan/Tilt camera is very well constructed, and easy to install. (Tapo even provided an extra screw. Who hasn't had a dropped/lost screw turn an easy install into an unfinished nightmare?) Once installed and connected, it worked almost exactly as expected, and provided excellent video. One minor shortcoming is that the "person detect" function applies some sort of AI processing after the camera has detected motion, so you cannot easily limit recordings only to people. Turning on motion detection means capturing any movement first, and then post-processing to see if people were captured. Generated lots of recordings without people in my case. Still, really great camera controls and filters and settings to help minimize false event recording, which I did eventually master. Good notification tools and easy controls and access to review recorded video without wasting a lot of time searching. EXCELLENT camera!Another good indication of the company's thinking is the web-based optional service provided free for the first month with the camera purchase. When the one-month trial ends, the service is terminated by default (!), so you are not automatically enrolled in the service with recurring costs every month. Easy to subscribe and keep it going, of course. My second camera was a fully wireless C425 with an integrated PIR motion detector to specifically identify and capture people or pets, to monitor comings and goings of animals in our back yard.Again, easy to install and connect, and again, a spare screw for the fumble-fingered amon us. The PIR makes recording of animals and people a breeze. The battery life is very good so far, although I have a lot of squirrels in the yard, so the camera wakes up often. Still, after three weeks of recording squirrels abd rabbits, the battery is still at 83%, more than meeting my expectations.Totally satisfied with the PIR funcionality and the camera features overall. Another W=EXCELLENT camera. As a final note, Tapo's customer service has been simply outstanding. Quick, knowledgable, relevant responses, and an obvious commitment to customer satisfaction make this arguably the best company I've ever dealt with when it comes to customer support. This review is uncompensated, and posted to each of the two cameras mentioned.

Thank you, TP-Link!It is refreshing to purchase an item and have it work better than advertised, but this camera is so much better than claimed I was shocked. I have 6 Eufy 2C cameras which I thought provided a good video image but were limited in having a fixed FOV there was some void coverage. My 2 Blink cams are also fixed position and again this left areas not protected so I started looking for a PTZ that would follow a person and record locally. My primary concern was nighttime videos in full color and while almost every camera on the market claim to have this capability some of those claims are vastly exaggerated. The Beenocam 4k produced an acceptable day image but the night view was at best horrible. I tried numerous setting and locations but was never able to get an identifiable image of a person walking a dog only 15 feet away from the camera. Yes, there was a dark blob for the person, but the dog looked like a dark mass that was somehow moving. After 2 weeks of trying to get it focused, I gave up and returned the product.Next the Reolink Trackmix. I really wanted this one to work so spent hours daily adjusting settings and working with their tech support. To their credit tech support stayed in daily contact but most of the suggestions were to turn off certain features or install older software updates and follow the online video solutions which did not work. The day image was superb except the tracking would work maybe 40% of the time and the sound was unintelligible. The night vision was almost as bad as the Beenocam. The nighttime black and white images looked washed out while the nighttime color left complete sections of the scene pixelated beyond recognition. After 3 frustrating weeks of many hours each day I finally admitted defeat and returned the camera.I was just about to add some more Eufy cams when it occurred to me that I had great success with the outdoor plugs from TP-Link and remembered seeing a favorable review of their C520 WS. I seldom take professional reviews seriously, preferring to believe the individual ratings, but thought I would give this product a try. I am so glad I did. This is how every security camera should work. While only a PT (no Z) the images both day and night are outstanding. The camera picks up a person, identifies them as a person with a blue header and follows them across the full range of motion that I set, roughly 210 degrees. I have turned off the night leds and set the image even at night to day mode. The image is crystal clear. The mic produces clear sound both sending and receiving. I did play a little with sensitive setting but that was only a minor hiccup. I tend to review any footage daily so only installed a 32GB card which can overwrite with new images, so I don’t see the need for anything larger. I can manually zoom if needed which is what I do with my Eufy cams so overall I would give this product a 5+ if that were possible. I will be using these cameras as replacements in the near future as they are that good. Thank you TP-Link
