Out of the box, I was hopeful. My trimmer (correct trimmer for these spools) was just about out of line, and I needed some ASAP. The new line spools looked fine. I was encouraged that a new spring and retainer cap was included. I noticed that the spring (unlike my current one) was tapered, but no instructions were included to tell me which way to install it.Anyway, I mounted one of the new spools using the old retainer cap and spring. It refused to advance line when I bumped the feed knob. Sometimes when I really slammed it down, it would feed once or twice, but then lock up solid. So I installed the new retainer cap and spring (tried it both directions). Now it was even worse. I couldn't force the feed knob down at all - it was frozen solid. I was able to crank on it a bit and get it a little looser, but it once again refused to feed.Then I found a couple of my old (aftermarket) spools after all. I installed one using my old retainer cap and spring, and it would feed with a slight bump of the trimmer, just like it should.In the end, I just ended up tossing the whole pack. It's just not going to work.

Unfortunately I missed the return date. First, the amount on each Spool is small. The biggest problem is the string get tangled on the Spool and it doesn't feed out. I had to keep taking it apart, trying to re align the Spool. NOT NOT BUY unless you want to be very frustrated.

I’m sure the item will do the job. Weather has kept my from trying out. Having now assembled the spools to my trimmer, I found that the snap on cover did not snap on very well. The edges that were supposed to secure everything in place were not deep enough. Had to use the old parf to get everything secure. Other parts fit well.
