I actually ordered this for my 2 year old daughterIt is playful with functions such as playing music, dancing and copying sentences.Firstly it repeats what you say which is really fun for the baby.Secondly its movements with flapping wings, make kids laughThere is off and on switch on bottom to save battery when not in use. It’s very Well made and very entertaining even for adults.When I gave this to my niece her reaction was amazing...She just loves it tooIt’s a Really cool toy..the recorder will record whatever you say and it repeats it back immediately in a funny voice. Its a much better toy than the dancing cactus!Thirdly there is music in it,different tunes are really nice. The music is much better than the cactus songs.This toy is quite a sweet toy... it brought a smile and a chuckle to us and if there are any problems i will write a updated review.But right now its just a week that my niece and daughter are playing with it.It is working good enough.Highly recommend for kids fun.

This is a funny toy and it seems to keep my baby entertained (for a few minutes). This chicken in the normal mode, will talk back and mimic any sounds and noises. The microphone is quite sensitive so I don't have to be screaming at it to make it react. This chicken takes 3x AA batteries which are not included and is installed underneath. There is a padded flap that covers the battery compartment. I find this flap slightly intrusive as it makes the on off switch difficult to reach. I think the flap could have been sewn on in a different orientation in order to make the switch easier to accessThe head is plush but the body is hard. Like a chicken skin wrapped on top of the mechanical inner workings. The fur is soft though so it is gentle on baby's skin. But this might not be the most comfortable toy to snuggle with, plus I think the mechanical parts might be too fragile for constant handling and may break.The volume is fixed and not adjustable. However, I don't find the volume too loud. There are several songs to pick from when you press the right foot and the chicken dances to these songs. There is also an option to record you own voice. I found the instructions not very clear on how to record the voice, but you need to hold down the button while recording. Then short press the same button to playback.
