Absolutely love these stones, they cut great and you can put whatever edge you want on your blade. I’ve used them quite a bit since I bought them and they still cut and work like a light bulb before planned obsolescence!

If anyone is seriously into sharpening of knives and carpenter tools, then you should go for the 8x3 size.

I bought the set of 3 (300/600/1200) to sharpen my 40 yr old wood chisels. They work great. I followed the included directions about breaking the stones in and then started flattening the backs of the chisels and moved on to sharpening and polishing the bevel. I have no complaints what-so-ever. My chisels shave wood better than ever and I see no wear on the stones after working them for an hour or more. Time will tell if they hold up over time but for now they seem like quality tools. I kind of wish I had bought the 3x8 versions but I wasn't sure enough about the quality to pay the extra. Next time I'll get the bigger one

I am not a good sharper by no means but after trying to sharpen my knife, which was rounded off more than a butter knife, it now has an edge that will cut again. I am not good enough at the moment the make a blade sharp enough to cut a shadow but cutting zip ties, tape, rope and cardboard along with the occasional apple this product has been just fine. I am not sure about the longevity of these but seem well built. The box says "it will smooth over time and actually improve in sharpening efficiency". I can tell after one use the 300 and 600 are smoother than when I started but the stones are still aggressive enough to shape the steel the way I intended it to.
