This was used to attach the cable to a splash proof connector. These connectors are sold without specifying the size of gland required. I had to take measurements in order to obtain the specs for the gland. Turned out my measurements were accurate and I was able to order exactly the right thing.

Bought these to run a small 4 wire cable into my saddle bags on my bike and was super let down.. they can’t be tightened.. hand tight is to tight for these and the threads will strip out.. if out of the whole package you manage to get one that works the second the wire or cable gets jiggled it all comes loose and falls apart.. I needed these to finish the project and still had to go get better quality ones after.. buggered up 5 and gave up.. they are cheaper for a reason and I wouldn’t even recommend using them on a craft let alone something you actually want sealed and water proof

found item on amazon and tried a package going to be used for christmas display control boxes to keep moisture out of boxes and circuit boards in tests performed componets are dry so far happy also good strain relief

Pretty cheap plastic. Pretty soft, very easy to cross-thread. Difficult to tighten adequately without crushing/deforming the plastic. Should seal okay for minor splashing or occasional light rain.
