I replaced my fuel pump assembly and gasket and didn't want to use bolts, so these studs went in with gasket maker on one end to prevent any leaks. That enabled me to use washers and lock-nuts to secure the new gasket and ensure a leak-free joint. Highly recommended to replace bolts!
