I didn't realize this monopod was too long to fit on a carry on even if you put it diagonally. It barely fit and I had to force it in the suitcase in order for it to fit. The monopod was light and easy for me to carry around while hiking because I had a strap on the backpack to strap it in. The legs made it a little difficult putting it in and taking it out of the side pocket. It would catch on the pocket. The monopod is well made and felt very study, but does not work well if it's windy out. It's not like a tripod where you can hang something to sturdy it. I ended it up returning it and will probably purchase a travel tripod instead.
