This spot lamp was a breeze to install, and it does a good job on highlighting a picture on the wall. However, I was hoping the light would dim more than it does. I used the same slide type dimmer wall switch as I have used in other applications. Those all dim to nearly "off", but this one remains fairly intense at the lowest slide setting.Also, while I knew this light was not capable of narrowing or widening the focus of the lamp on the wall, it would have been a nice feature to have had. I think that would have diffused the spot enough to suit my needs.All in all, it is a well made product that is easy to install, and it does the job that was advertised.

This VANoopee product consists of two components: the mounting plate and the light fixture. In a normal installation the mounting plate is attached to a standard ceiling box with two 8-32 machine screws; you then connect the fixture wires to the wiring in the ceiling box and fasten the fixture to the mounting plate using the white decorative-cap screws provided. NOTE: Because the fixture wires are very small and slippery, connecting them to your house wiring with conventional wire nuts may be difficult. Wago connectors will probably work better. The light can be controlled with an LED-compatible dimmer switch if desired.For my application I didn't have an existing ceiling box, so I bought a Wiremold round, surface-mount box and screwed it securely into the ceiling before mounting the fixture. I wired it with a swag-chain electrical assembly I had on hand and plugged it into a switched outlet. This arrangement suits my needs. The spotlight normally shines on a picture and can be easily tilted down to serve as a reading light. The 10-watt LED puts out an amount of illumination roughly equivalent to a 60-watt incandescent bulb, so it's moderately bright but not a high-intensity fixture. The 4000K color temperature is a neutral white that works fine in most home environments.At the Amazon price of $27, this is a quality light fixture at a reasonable cost.
