Found the problem, easy to use. I attached the sensor to a fiberglass fish tape and make it easier to run. Not very powerful, but worth the money

It isn't an expensive locator, but it does the trick and makes life easier for less. I don't like the length of the probe, because it isn't capable of making a turn down a 90. But, popping off a fitting isn't all that tough. I suggest noise canceling headphones to listen for the indication. Paid for itself the first time, due to the amount of clock digging around would have eaten up. Big props on the price for the ease of use and functionality, well worth the cost.

For corregated pipe, tape to garden hose or drain cleaner cable. Probe cable is too flimsy for this type of pipe, so improvise.

I bought this to trace a 3" PVC drain line under a foundation. There was a 90 degree turn and the transmitter end was catching the seam at the curve. The cable was not stiff enough to allow me to put enough force behind it to get by the seam. I tried different angles even flexing the cable at the transmitter but as soon as it hit the fitting, it stopped. I put a snake down thinking something was there. Nope. Snake went right around the curve. I thought about some modifications that would make it work but, unless I can't return it, well, it's not my job. The engineers should have seen this. :-)
