This is really more of a decorative reproduction. It has the disks and "rete" and is pleasant to look at asside from the big wingnut that holds it together, but without an alidade and rule (the poiner/ruler bits) you can't use it show how measurements would have been taken with the real instrument in ancient times. It's arguably the most important parts.
