This Wooden Violin Chin Rest is made of high quality, durable materials. It features a wooden violin chin rest, chin rest bracket with screws, and cork protector. This chin rest was very easy to install on my daughter's violin. It took a few minutes to remove her other one but we used the height of the old one to adjust the screws on the new one. Once that was done, it was very easy to attach it with very little adjustment needed. She really loves the feel of the chin rest and says it is very comfortable. Having the extra length on the chin rest provides a better user experience. It fits our 4/4 minus 1/8" violin perfectly and can be adjusted for a 3/4 violin or a full 4/4 with ease. I really like the added cork to protect the finish on the violin, it is on the bottom of the chin rest and on the opposing side of the bracket.I think the price is good value for money and this chin rest will last for years to come.I recommend this product.

My mother bought her violin back in 1960 when she was 15, but they apparently didn’t come with chin rests in those days. She’d never had one installed, so I thought I’d surprise her with this. So far we’ve been quite happy with it, but be aware that it’s intended for 3/4 or 4/4 violins and may not fit smaller models. It’s attractive and the contours feel very comfortable on the chin. The gripping surfaces are all lined with cork to protect your finish, but the cork layer can peel off pretty easily if you’re not paying attention during installation. There are no instructions included, but installation is pretty intuitive.Keeping the threaded surfaces lined up with the tubes can be tricky, as can tightening the arms. You’ll have to get a small metal rod (I used a thin Allen wrench), insert it in the adjustment holes, and then turn to tighten each section. Be careful, however, because it’s easy to scratch your finish. I did it twice without realizing it. They really should have included a tool in the package. As an aside, you may have noticed the write-up in the listing is talking about a lamp rather than the chin rest. That was genuinely weird, and I’m not sure what’s going on with that.At $16.23 it’s decently priced, but there are a number of cheaper options on Amazon if you care to look. Some of the price difference may just be that this is a lighter colour than the more traditional ebony finish, but I can’t say for certain. Regardless, it’s a decent quality piece and we’re happy with it.Our rating: 4 stars
