My interest in this product comes from a regular pest in the area that I live in: the bot fly. The bot fly can lay eggs on different parts of the horse's body, but for some reason they seem to really go for the legs. Those tiny super sticky eggs are a royal pain to try and scrape off with the bot knife. I was hoping these boots would help prevent at least some of the bites. My horse goes out with a fly sheet on as well. She is a large warmblood and they fit her well. The Velcro is very strong, and the boots are very easy to use. So far they have been keeping flies from biting my horse's lower legs. My only concern about these boots is the same with any Velcro product. As dirt/stuff accumulates on it over time it does loose it's fastening ability. So far I am happy with this product and how it has helped my horse. As long as you are able to keep the Velcro attachments clean they should work well for a long time.
