This is my favourite J. Lang album. Very bluesy and rocky as I like it. Lie to Me was great too. After that the style kind of changed, towards something funkier I do not like. So if you want to try JL, start with this one.

Jonny Lang has it -- whatever it is -- call it musical integrity, roots, passion, feel or a simple and real sense of the song. His age is irrelevant. He had it as a kid and is only getting better and more refined. And his songwriting is just as inspired. I'm a huge fan of the blues and you cannot deny the wondrous blues foundation of Johnny's music. It's in the heart of his performance. No wonder it's so soulful, free-spirited and without any posturing or self-importance. I fell in love with this record on my first play. There's no need to keep Jonny in the traditional 16-bar blues format -- he's got a lot to say and he needs a mosaic of musical styles in which to create. Bravo Jonny! This endorsement comes from a 30-something-year-old singer/songwriter who takes her music very seriously. You have captured my attention and I look forward to all you have to offer now and in the future! You're a breath of much-needed fresh air in this "business" of music.

I was so thrilled when I discovered this guy just here recently. I immediatley purchased his excellent "Lie To Me" CD. I was an instant fan. What a talent!. What music!. I rushed to get this CD soon after. I wasn't disappointed. Sure there were things that weren't as good as the previous CD, but there were songs that made up for it. The CD starts off with a great rocking song called "Still Rainin'". This is a song that sounds as if it were written, recorded and released to be a classic. It has all the right ingredients. Great. A stand out track is a slower ballad called "Breakin' Me". This song is worth buying the CD. It is definitley one of the nicest surprises I've encountered in music here lately. A wonderful song. The up tempo songs here are just as good as on "Lie To Me". "Right Back" is just fun. It has a great hook. "Angel Of Mercy" is a jammin' bluesy/rock song. A real great track. The last two songs here are both up tempo rockers. A cover of Luther Allison's "Cherry Red Wine" which is smokin', and the bouncy "Before You Hit The Ground". There are a few tracks here that don't work for me. A cover version of the Prince song "I Am" is a disappointment. It's boring and doesn't really go anywhere. "The Levee" could of been good, but it just loses it and you lose interest. "Second Guessing" has a good, catchy melody, but the rest doesn't live up to how fun the melody is. "Leaving To Stay" is drab, and the title track, "Wander This World", seems to, well, wander. The last good track here is "Walking Away". It sounds like a classic hit song. It has a good hook in the lyric. I like it. As always, Jonny's guitar playing is astounding. He can stand up on stage and play alongside the 'gods of guitars' and easily hold his own and then some. His voice is cool. It can rough and tough, and then turn and be soft and soulful. This guy really has something special going on here. I hope he keeps it up and doesn't get corrupted by the dark side of the biz, or gets into the nauseating world that the rest of modern music is in. Keep up the good work Jonny. Waiting for more great stuff.
