When attached to cage as described, the metal clips stick out at eye height for rabbit trying to get hay. If you bend clips out of the way with pliers then you cannot remove the feeder from the cage. I returned it.

I’ve been looking for a hay basket that sits outside the cage because I don’t want my Chinchillas to injure themselves as they rush around.This hay basket is perfect it keeps hay from falling on the floor it’s easy to fill up clean and maintain It was a bit expensive but I’m very happy with the product .

I bought this 4 months ago and the tabs at the bottom is very flexible. It will move when you don't realize it. One of the tabs at the bottom snapped off and the whole thing fell off. So either I use a metal clip to put it back or I get something else. I also found that after a while hay dust will accumulate under the feeder, so I had to constantly clean under the feeder which got annoying. I'm going to buy another feeder that is placed inside, not outside the cage/enclosure.

Attached to my rabbit’s pen to hold her hay. It’s very sturdy, but I find if I overfill it or if she’s too aggressive with it that the metal hooks can come undone and it can pop off. I simply need to put it back on, and it happens rarely, so it’s not much of an issue. Would probably help if they were just a touch longer though.Overall I’m very happy with it because it does it’s job, and because it is slanted she is able to reach all of the hay as it comes down.

As far as hay racks go this one is pretty sturdy, but I find my little piggies don't like eating their hay from a feeder, seeing as their diet should be 90% hay, this isn't a good way to feed them, but a good way to keep a cage or pen clean.

This is my second time purchasing it and third one that I owned. The first one was slightly damaged and Amazon replaced it because there was some cracking in the clips. The second one was the replacement and on both the first and the second the sticker came off in a million pieces and took me forever to get off and I scratched the crap out of the second one. I just pulled the third one out of the box today and went to go grab some rubbing alcohol to attack the sticker adhesive with for an hour and the entire sticker came off in one piece with minimal effort. There seems to be a hair in the powder coating but I don't know if that's actually there or not. I don't know if the change in the sticker is because of an actual change in the adhesive or because it's not summer. I'm also very glad that I got a purple one again because I don't know what I would do if I got a white or blue. orange or green would be acceptable cuz that goes with my cage theme but other than that, no thank you.

The bottom doesn't hold tight enough and causes a lot hay bits to fall through, I wish the bottom fit more tightly to the cage and secured on better.

I got this product to reduce hay and mess, and it does both very well. The feeder is installed outside the cage facing towards my rabbit's litter box, perfectly flush with the cage wall. It has two strong metal hooks that attach to the cage wall on top on either side, and two more bendy pieces of metal that attach on the bottom to the cage wall also on either side. It was very easy to set up (5 minutes). The feeder is well-made (metal), and large enough to hold enough hay for the morning through evening for my 5.5 pound mini-rex. I read some scary reviews of other feeders that were wire and very dangerous. So far, this solid metal feeder seems quite rabbit-safe.At first, my rabbit would not eat out of it. I was concerned he did not understand he could get to the hay, but eventually I realized he was boycotting the new arrangement but secretly eating hay when he thought I wasn't watching. After about three days he has decided that he is very happy with it.There is a single design issue that I perceive, which is that the bottom tilts down and away from the cage wall. This means once the front hay has been eaten, the hay falls backwards away from the cage and out of reach of the rabbit. I fixed this really easily by cutting a piece of cardboard behind the hay and putting a squishy ball that will expand and push the cardboard forward towards the cage as the hay is eaten. Now it works perfectly.
