They eliminate the time spent switching to a child-sized saddle and moving adult-length stirrups up to a child's length. The horse can wear a saddle that fits well instead of a child-sized saddle that may rub, pinch and cause saddle sores. Made from durable, weather-resistant harness leather, Lil' Dude Stirrups have a slotted horn opening that easily fits over most saddle horns. The large front panel is designed to help keep your child more securely centered in the saddle and decrease side-to-side and back-and-forth slippage when the child shifts weight. Child-sized synthetic stirrups are covered with leather tapaderos to help prevent little feet from slipping through stirrups. The stirrup lengths adjust from 20" to 30" quickly and easily. If you have a little cowboy or cowgirl who you don't have a child saddle for, this is your next best thing! Slip this right over the horn of your regular-sized saddle, and your little one is good to go! Sometimes you don't want to purchase a child-size saddle that you know your child is going to grow out of in the blink of an eye. This is a great option! I bought these for my grandkids to ride our big saddles, they fit on the saddle easily & nicely. When they arrived, the left stirrup was backwards so we had to re-do but it was no big deal. Takes a little time to change length for each child, youngest rider was 3 & oldest was 8 & these stirrups fit them well. I LOVE the tapaderos to keep small feet from slipping through the stirrup, a must for small children riding horses.

This is easily adjustable with regular old fashioned buckles. Well made with wider stirrup leathers than most products have. Haven't used them yet but I can see they won't slide back and forth on the saddle horn as much as the nylon types do. These will last a lifetime.

These stirrups are absolutely adorable, and very high quality! They slip right over the horn on a western saddle, and provide much more usable stirrups for all the little ones. Also, they have the leather across the toes to prevent feet being slipped too far inside. I definitively recommend these as a cheaper alternative to buying a full child's saddle.
