I like the weight of these reins in my hands. Nice leather. They are the same width as my last reins, but heavier and thicker. I'm a very tactile person and I feel more confident holding these than I do if my reins are thin and lightweight. I achieve a gentler connection with my curb bit and softer communication with my horse. (With lighter reins, I tended to shorten my reins too much, seeking too much contact with my horse's mouth, if that makes sense.) I'm using them with my western dressage bridle and plan to get a 2nd pair for my trail bridle.

The loops to attach the bit to are a little tough to push thru, I used a screwdriver to open the hole up. Other than that, they are super buttery, soft. Can't wait to use them.
