Mejor busca en otro lugar, este producto no sirve, no se pudo configurar ni con toda la ayuda en línea de WD. Después de revisar con soporte técnico, no tuvo reparación. Lamentablemente pasó mucho tiempo entre que lo compré y lo usé como para devolverlo a Amazon y el proceso de hacer válida la garantía es muy complicado con algunos cobros. Si lo compran como producto restaurado, no les harán válida la garantía

Use to have a regular USB type NAS and through some network magic setup through a VPN direct to the house to get to things when away. Cost and effort just got easier. Now this just plugs into your network add files over the internet and locally as well as even a great central DVR for multiple streaming boxes so you can get to the a recording from any streaming box -Wait I reviewed too soon. Here is an Update..The Title as I have really truly has a new meaning. NAS ness is correct - Paperweight. the device keeps going off line, it is an expensive boat anchor than a NAS - I contacted customer support, the support level kept asking for the data I supplied, and after I supplied it yet once again. After some time, Customer Support asked if they could replace the drive. Had asked me to follow their process, I did. and they end they said it would be 5-7 business days. Well After numerous emails they have consistently stated they are working on the resolve and to be patient, and each time it was a new number of days. Well after 2 months - that this should have been resolved. I am not sure what the delay is. Possibly the replacement drives have the exact same problem -

Just purchased and will return as soon as it arrives. Decided to read the setup information before it arrived to be ready to install the unit. However I discovered this in the drive information online. So not sure why I would buy something that might not be supported in the future.My Cloud Home Desktop app is a utility that is included in the WD Discovery software, and which provides the ability to mount the device as a local desktop drive.WD is focused on providing exceptional customer experiences with our products. With that focus, from time to time we retire legacy software products that are no longer consistent with the company’s customer experience ecosystem.Starting June 2023, we will no longer be supporting the My Cloud Home Desktop App that is included in WD Discovery software. This means there will be no further functional and security updates for this feature. At this time, remote access to your My Cloud Home™ device will also no longer be available through the WD Discovery™ desktop app.

Totally not worth it; I feel like it's a scam. It worked fine for a year, but after I migrated all my files to the cloud, I was locked out due to an issue with the company that blocked all devices for weeks. I used to access my files directly on my computer in local mode, like having a folder on my computer. Now, the only access that works is through the website, which is inconvenient. I have to download the files to use them and then upload them again. I bought the product exclusively to use in local mode, and now that doesn't work anymore. It feels like a total scam.

In the installation view, it is a great production. It came with hard-disk; it was just plug and play. However, the application supports from Western Digital was very bad. It just provided a 5-year free licence of a third party app for Windows 10. Actually, this app does not work with My Home Duo. It can only backup my PC into a local hard drive. Then, I have to copy the backup image to My Home Duo manually.At the mobile side, the My Cloud app can only backup photo. It could not handle other data file. Moreover, the copy speed was extremely slow. It took 20hours to copy 10,000 photos. After the initial backup, every photo takes 3s to copy. Fortunately, it is a automatic process, no need to handle after initial backupIn summary, the hardware production is good. But the apps are handicapped.

I hesitated to replace my now aged out My Cloud drive with this one as some of the reviews complained about the interface and stated the drive didn't appear on their network.I didn't initially install WD Discovery but once I did the drive appeared on my network after a reboot. This was important for me as I use the drive to move files back and forth to my ipad. The app for the ipad installed easily and found the drive easily.I wasn't really stoked about the web interface for the drive but I love that I don't need to use it once the drive appears as a network drive. I can setup folders and move files from other places just like I would any other drive. Overall, I'm glad I took the step and replaced my older cloud drive.

I have used this 4TB iteration of the home cloud for 9 years. The only reason I had to buy a new one is because the first one I bought outlasted its security software. I use these clouds everyday. The app isn't a 10/10 but it does exactly what it says it should. It is super simple to use, easy to navigate if you take some time to set it up, and is a perfect simple solution if you want to back up your files on an ongoing basis or access your files from anywhere. Way cheaper than mobile cloud storage in the long run, and while there are physical limitations and hardware that is susceptible to failure just by virtue of being hardware, mine have never failed, and you always have the ability for a double back up. It does what it should for the price point.

Lo decidí comprar ya que terminó el almacenamiento ilimitado de Google photos y no estaba dispuesto a pagar por más almacenamiento, la aplicación es muy sencilla de usar, la configuración de igual manera es muy sencilla, el único pero que le pongo es que no tiene la opción para reconocer rostros o ubicaciones en las fotos para crear álbumes automáticamente.Además con el tiempo descubrí buenas funciones como Plex o la opción de transferir todas tus fotos de Google Photos, Facebook o Instagram.Si tú propósito es almacenar fotos y streaming de vídeo por Plex es más que perfecto por el precio.

I am using this product as a network storage drive for all of our home computers. It is an affordable way to retain backup copies or just store files and make them accessible to others on your home network.I initially found the product a bit noisy but after consultation with the product support, and reviewing the information provided to me by them, I determined this to be a function of the normal operation of the unit. Data transfer can be via a wired or wireless connection. Initial loading of a large number of photos took a fairly long time over a wireless connection but that speed is sufficient for normal usage.I would recommend this product and all of the Western Digital products that I own as affordable and reliable storage.

Easily added to our home network and thanks to cloud control you can send photos from your phone to it while travelling. So far Norton accepts it as a network backup storage and I'm seamlessly running backups from my Windows laptop whenever I'm home and plugged into power. Works well and it looks good too! Make sure you have an ethernet connection to your network
