This extender/access point has familiar software inside and uses a modern chip. Though it is limited to 300N standards and does have a RJ45 for wired back haul or for connecting a non wireless Ethernet device. The AP mode has the fastest throughput with a faster upload suitable wireless cameras that upload. The Repeater Extender mode achieved 8mbps download and 16 Mbps upload, again favouring upload from cameras. The wifi range I felt was limited likely because of tiny internal antennas. This device is best suited for linking in a fringe solar security camera, at the end of the driveway with the repeater in the garage.

I consulted my husband about ordering this as a wifi extender for our apartment. He thought it would be worth trying to see if we could finally get wifi out on the balcony. I had to rely on him to do the setup, since he is the technical guy, but he apparently didn’t have a problem. I was just the guinea pig who got bundled up in warm clothes to go out on the balcony and see if I could pick up the wifi from inside the apartment.Well, it took some doing finding exactly the right place to plug the extender in inside the apartment and which part of the balcony to stand in order to get wifi access. (We have a long balcony and the barrier includes windows in some parts and thick walls in others. As you can imagine, standing in front of a thick wall section was not very conducive to picking up wifi from inside the building.) Well anyway we got it to work. It’s not the fastest (my husband says it’s partly because this is a 2.4GHz device), but previously we didn’t have ANY access to wifi on the balcony, so it’s still a win.Bottom line: If you’re technically inclined and you have some areas in your home where wifi is spotty or nonexistent, you could consider using the Aigital WiFi extender to expand your existing wifi into those areas.

I needed an extender / repeater for my wifi light, as it kept disconnecting previously due to the hub being too far away. I needed to repeat the 2.4G signal. This Aigital extender was super easy to set-up and the directions were clear. The only thing is the reset button is very difficult to press down, and I did have to reset because I "hid" the new network name, and then forgot what it was!Anyway, for now, it's working well. The signal is strong. But I've set up another extender before (different brand) that had failed (it stopped connecting to the network), so I guess time will tell. But I am hopeful!

Would have been nice to extend the wifi coverage in my house, thought I'd give this a try. After a frustrating amount of time trying to set it up, I discovered that it does not accept special characters for use with wifi (e.g. !@#$%^&* etc). Why? I try to input my wifi password to allow the device to extend range and it returns "Invalid password". I ensured the password was correct, tried entering one without special characters and wsa able to advance to the next setup step no problem. I have so many smart devices configured in my house with my existing password that changing the wifi password to accommodate this device, not to mention the weakened security is not worth it.
