Batteries do not give you as much electrostatic as this transformer does. It’s a must if you are serious about adding lots of grass to your layout

I tried the 9 volt battery with the "Static King" with very poor results! There just was not enough amps from the battery to create static for the static grass to stand up. This 12 volt power supply works fantastic and makes the grass upright, including the long 12 MM grass. Its well worth the extra hassle of the power cord.
