Lens glued off set and popped off upon slight pressure, rubber in screw holes . Biggest waste of time and money on Amazon, I have been working on cars for over 50 years and this is the worst part I have had in that time!! BUYER BEWARE!!!!

The plastic quality is softer than Uncle Joe's foreign policy. It didn't even work when the loom was plugged in and brake pedal was depressed. Furthermore, it did not fit in the factory trunk cutout at all, and broke apart when mild percussive installation was attempted. Would absolutely not recommend to anyone with a 99-10 New Beetle, you will be sorry you bought it. I missed my return window and I'm out $30 for a piece of junk that probably cost $5 to manufacture.

The product worked, but wouldn't fit in the opening without modification to the item. This is the second time that I have purchased a after market product for my 2003 Beetle. Best to stick with the VW brand and know that it will fit in the slot.
