Despite the mixed opinions in the reviews, I decided to give it a try. I did the test and they do NOT light up the same, the one with 4 Leds is much brighter than the one with 2 Leds.

I came back to read the reviews after purchasing and installing... I also feel it is slightly brighter, but I do think I overpaid for what it is. At the same time I feel the the flag pole light kit is way overpriced as it is anyway. Wasn’t much difference between the two and four led modules, tried to take before and after pictures but couldn’t tell which was brighter.

The 4 LED is obviously a little brighter than the 2 LED stock bulb - but I wouldn't say it's twice as bright. My thought is that anything that is a little brighter is simply better when you need to be seen by the motorized boat traffic. However, I feel it's over-priced for what it is and would be more appropriately priced at $9.95 rather than $14.95. In any case, it functions and is brighter. End of story.
