Comes with everything you would need for a small game. Pick up game sized tiles so dont expect the full sized ones but contains full set of riichi sticks and a nice case. 3.5/3.5 would buy again if for some reason I needed two sets

The product is good as expected,I like it and it’s kind of unique with the yellow back.

The tiles are smaller than I thought, but still really nice quality and nice for a first set. I think it's very portable in comparison to other sets, doesn't seem that heavy so it's a good option if you want to take it with you.

This is my first Mahjong set, so I've nothing to compare to, but the tiles themselves are very nice. They seem well made, and are consistent with pretty much no defects - if I was to nitpick, one of my 3-sou tiles is a little underpainted, but not a huge issue. They were smaller than I expected, not being familiar with standard sizing, and having only seen the game played with larger tiles, but I think I might like them this way. The tile designs look great, with a two-tone black and maroon colour scheme (with a brighter red for the red doras), although I think I'd have preferred if they included some dark green on the relevant soh and dragon tiles. I love the shade of yellow used on the backs. The other accessories are not of the same standard as the tiles, but are adequate. The case is attractive enough, if not the sturdiest. The trays are cheap moulded plastic, and the one for the dice and points sticks was cracked, but still functional. The dice are irregularly sized and shaped, which would be catastrophic for some games, but Mahjong can get away with it, I think. The points sticks are, again, cheap plastic, with inconsistent paint work, and some sprues still attached - might take an emery board to them to tidy them up a bit. There are exactly enough points sticks for a 30,000 point game. This is the standard for Europe, as I learned from the included rulebook issued by the European Mahjong Association, which I assume YMI only put in the boxes sold in this region, but was a nice addition.Overall, for the price, I'd definitely recommend the set. The quality of the tiles, which are the most important factor, more than make up for the shortcomings elsewhere.

I have always enjoyed playing mahjong online, however, the size of the tiles seem to be forever getting smaller. Of course, this could just as easily be the result of poor eyesight. At any rate when I saw this I thought I just had to try it. This is my first physical mahjong set and so far I love it. I find the differences in each tile are good enough to easily recognize like ones. There is a decent weight so you could stand them up like dominoes to hide your hand. There is a place for everything so you can keep the like things together. All of it is neatly packed into the supplied case. This set is presented so well you could most certainly gift it. I have no doubt there are better quality ones out there, but they will come at a much higher price. I highly recommend this as a starter set.

The tiles are surprisingly small, but are nice. The paint is also good. The tiles for the most part, and after a quick inspection, are even. A few have their faces slightly off center. The counting sticks feel cheap and have flash on their edges. Their pips were painted quickly as a few of them have had ink spill out of them.I believe the wind indicator was made the same way as the counting sticks: cheap, cheap cheap. At least the paint on the characters didn't spill out too much? The case is wicked flimsy, as most have indicated. I'm hoping it's going to last as I'm extra careful with my things. Then, there's the dice. Oh. My. God. What are these? They're not even cubic! One side is thicker than the other. One edge is skewed and rounded, most likely because it spent too much time in the tumbler? Yeah, think I'll be using different dice.Decent set, for the most part. Good for learning the game without busting the bank.

This set is a great set, albeit likely the only Riichi set we can attain here for a reasonable price in North America. The tiles themselves are pretty small, but fat, so they're very easy to handle. As well, the small tiles contribute to the portability of the set, which I think is a slight advantage. All of them are well ingrained, and it's pretty clear they're not badly made. However, on my set there was a slight defect where there was a little bit of paint in the wrong place on my 9 sou tile. It's not something to refund or care about (not a single person I've played with has noticed), but it is to be noted. As other reviews have mentioned, there is no green paint. At first this may make the set seem dull, but it actually isn't too bad. Sure, the green dragon and bamboos not having that distinct green on them may suck at first, but after a while the tiles sort of grow on you, and it almost feels like a cool design. Almost, although I've personally made the conclusion that they just cut that cost. The point sticks have a surprisingly good weight to them, although around 3/10 have some kind of defect. The wind indicator is also nice, but mine came with a pretty bad paint job and had a very cheap feel to it. I personally think of these things as nice additions to have, but nothing too substantial. Most surprisingly though, I feel the four dice that came with mine had a really nice weight and were actually really well made. The case is fine, a bit cheap feeling. It has a little plastic folder to put paper in, and I like putting a scoring table and reference sheet in there. The components fit quite nicely, and the trays that you put the tiles in double as trays to keep your sticks in. Nothing really to complain of here. As well, clearly seen is that there's no little numbers to help people out who don't read Chinese Characters. It makes the tiles look a lot nicer, in my opinion, but it comes at the cost of accessibility to new players. If I ever find myself in Japan, I'll likely "upgrade" to a better set for a slightly higher price and much better components. However, this set is solid and stands up on its own. Especially as the only set you can get here, I think it's pretty good. The players I play with express satisfaction as well, and I personally think of it as a charming set that I feel a little smug to call my own.

For the cost this is a terrific set for anyone who is interested in playing Riichi Mahjong. It comes with everything you need to play a game (including the red dora tiles), and those items that are absolutely needed (tiles and point sticks) are very sturdy. The wind indicator will work as will the dice, and since they really don't undergo the handling the tiles and point sticks will you should have no problems with them lasting (they are easy enough to replace if something does happen). Some items to note:- The color green is not present. The bamboo and green dragon tiles are painted black; still looks very nice in my opinion.- The tiles do not have any English letters or numbers on them. While it is easy enough to tell the numbers of the dots and bams you will have to learn to identify the numbers, winds, and green dragon (since it is the same color as the winds) if you don't know them already.- The size of the tiles is considered Japanese small (25mm x 18mm x 16mm) by comparison a Japanese standard set is only slightly bigger (27mm x 20mm x 16mm).- The case is probably the most flimsy part of the whole set. I would not expect this to last very long, but if you are like me you don't want the set for the case.Overall I am very impressed with the set, and look forward to playing for years to come. I know you can get better sets out there, but you will pay a whole lot more.
