Only because I can't give it a zero I gave it a one everything in it shows it comes with the camera it does not it's literally just the video which is useless without the camera so it was a waste of my money.

Recently I made the decision to buy a fitness game to help me get in shape. The sole reason I did not buy this game was because I did not want any part of my money to support an anti-vaccine activist. Jenny McCarthys' involvement automatically makes me question the validity of the product and the accuracy of the information contained in it.I had to enter a rating to post the review; the rating is based solely on the dubious reputation of the chosen spokesperson for this game. I cannot comment on anything else, as I have not used it.

I like the way this "game" is designed. It has features that some workout "games" do not have, such as a routine that specifically focuses on the area you would like to work on, a time frame to complete your goals, a wide variety of exercises, the camera, and you can use the equipment you already have.At first I didn't think watching myself would make a difference, but I actually find myself trying hard to get the positions correct. Sometimes the camera just doesn't recognize that I am move, such as when I am doing sit-ups. But that could have to do with my color clothing plus the color of the room.Every time I do this workout I get better and better at it. I have had it for a week now and it is a much better workout than the wii fit. It gives you some rests between exercises. I like how it set up the schedule for me because it makes me feel like I actually have to do it. I can change the schedule if I would like to.What I don't like about the "game" is that there are some bugs in it. It will tell me to get my stability ball when she means hand weights. There is also a part where she will stop to review to see how I am doing, and the program does nothing. It had me workout 1 to 2 min longer than 30 min because it was stuck in a routine.I think this is a good workout and I am enjoying it more than some other I have used in the past.

I received a copy of Your Shape as part of a BzzAgent campaign and was excited to try it out as an alternative to gym, outdoor and DVD workouts. I was hoping that it would be a fun and interactive workout. Unfortunately there were too many poor design elements for me to recommend it. The camera is a great idea that doesn't really work all that well. It's useful to be able to see what you are doing so that you can correct your shape (like the mirrors at the gym) and it's also nice not having to use the Wiimote, but other than that it doesn't work all that well. There were numerous times where I was doing exactly what the instructor was doing and the game repeatedly told me to focus on my legs or my arms but didn't provide any specifics as to what I was supposedly doing wrong. There were also times where I wasn't following the moves at all and got feedback that I was doing great. The music is horrible and repetitive and the constant repetition of catchphrases from the instructor was extremely annoying. The game also indicates that you can use it with additional items like a step or weights, but when I input that I was going to use an aerobic step there were no step exercises selected, so the feature is essentially useless. I would also like to have been able to select exercises that are modified to accommoidate physical limitations (I had spinal surgery last year, so I would have liked to have modified the workout to eliminate some of the floor and yoga exercises that are hard to do with a bad back). I did sweat a bit so the workout wasn't a complete waste, but I would have been really disappointed if I had paid for the game instead of receiving a promotional copy.

This is my review for your shape for the nintendo wii, this game is a sequel of sorts to "My fitness coach" which came out about a year ago from the date of this review. Naturally you would comapre these two games to see what, if any differences. The old game "My fitness coach" is very good, i was using it regularly(every day) for about 7 months, and completed ~200 workouts. that game puts you through physical tests and asks results. Then you set a schedule which you can follow on a calander, or you can workout on your own w/ no schedule. Once you set the schedule it asks you what area of your body you would like to work; core, legs, upper, yoga, flexibility, cardio. Then you select your workout equipment:dumbells(i have been using 15lbs but it probably varies according to what your level is), heart monitor, step bench, and exercise ball. Then the time of workout from 15minutes to 75minutes. After that it puts you into the workout and starts with a cardio warmup which lasts sometimes over 5 minutes, then works out various parts of your body. You start doing your selected body area(yoga, cardio, legs, ect) then move on to another area. For example if upper then you do: a cardio workout, an upper workout, a lower workout, then some stretching. Its the same every time, It does not just work out the upper body, it does some other workout along. It seems to me disproportional. The exercises are pretty good but it was clunky with the segways from one exercise to another. I like the fact that you could select 15 minute flexibility and 15 minute yoga. The trainers voice is very soothing, the graphcis are bad for today, theres not much in the way of viewing progress, it never told me how many hours i worked out, only the number of workouts, and no stats on how many times i did an exercise. All in all "My fitness coach" it is a great game and to me light years better workout than wii fit, i had been doing that for 9 months before i got "My fitness coach".Now the new game: "Your Shape". Its very similar to My fitness coach, erilly. Jenny McCarthy is the spokeswoman, which is new, and she comes on screen and gives her shpeal, but other than that shes not in the game, theres a different actress who voices to you, which is pretty lame, the imposters voice is really annoying, i dont know if anyone has played Fallout 3 but that lady who runs the shop in Megaton, she sounds like that. After you setup the camera, it sits on top of your sensor bar, You get scanned and then it tells you what you should do. I dont really trust the results of these tests because the camera seems sorta sporadic. I choose what area i want to work on, it makes more sense. Then like in MFC you select the type of workout:(lost yoga, flexibility, cardio but added some):Chest, Arms, Back, Shoulders, Legs, Gluts. Then you select weather you want to:burn, strength, tone up the exercise you chose. This is pretty straight forward and seems nice. Then you select your equipment again like MFC from:(no heart monitor)step bench, dumbells, exercise ball. Then length from 15min -75min. Then you get into it. Whats very nice in this game is that you put all the info in and it asks you"are you feeling okay?" and then you can put the wiimote down, for the whole length of the exercise. The game has the same setup as MFC, you start with cardio(same exercises), then move to your selected body area(same exercises although there have been a few new ones but its about 96% same). Its a more intense workout for me, right of the bat. It tells you to use your handweights more than MFC and the exercise seems more rigerous. You see yourself next to the trainer onscreen in a video box, which is sometimes good, although in MFC one of the tips said to avoid looking at yourself when working out which i find humerous. I have a small apartment with 8 foot ceilings, and plenty of controlled light, and the camera works okay. I was getting worse scores when i first started it, but i have gotten my grades up after ~12 workouts. I cannot get the yoga to give me good scores though, but maybe im doing something wrong. Speaking of Yoga, the yoga is very brutal in this game, at least compared to wii fit and MFC, its only 30 minutes, theres no choosing how long, and its all intense poses, like triangle, dance, and airplane. There is more game tracking info in this game which is nice, like calories, "weight lifted"(i dont know what this means as i dont think it direclty correlates to what youve been lifting with hand weights), and "distance traveled"(again ?), average performance, favorite workout, and grade. MFC had less game tracking but you measure your body parts and have you enter in how many pushups you were doing, heart rate resting, and active.I think that this new game is better than the old one MFC because it is more streamlined and simpler. But it also lacks a versatle yoga and flexibility options which leaves me wanting more. I used to do yoga for 15min on MFC which was perfect for me. Theres also special workouts in YS, expecting mom, new years resolution, lose 10 lbs. I have not tried these. I would say that its a good game but it also leaves something to be desired. I have never used EA active so bear that in mind when taking into account my review.

UBISOFT SHOULD BE SUED FOR FALSE ADVERTISING! The main reason I bought this game is that the TV ads show a shadowed silhouette you're supposed to match so you'll know whether or not you're doing the exercise correctly. But the actual game doesn't have the silhouette. They sure duped me! As other reviewers have mentioned, the camera doesn't always recognize your movements and often tells you that you're doing the exercises incorrectly by saying "watch your arms", "watch your legs", etc. But it doesn't show you what needs to be done to correct your movements. Hence the need for the missing silhouette. What makes it even worse for me is that all the exercises are preceded by warm-ups that include only high impact aerobics. I power-walk 3 miles a day and am in good shape, but my knees are sort of weak and I don't want to do high impact exercises. And if I do a low-impact variation, it tells me I'm not keeping up and to get going! All in all, I feel this game was an absolute waste of my money and I wish I could return it, but since it's opened I can't.

(one month in review) This might be the only review from a man. Let me tell you other gentlemen something, aerobics are not a joke! Damn they are tough and get your whole body moving. I'm a pretty big guy at 270+, was 280 a month ago and then lost around ten lbs because of Your Shape. I know some of you other reviewers are probably thinking that this game is tailored for women and it is to an extent. But I use heavier weights and I am easily in the best shape of my life in three weeks thanks to this game. I had the Wii fit and it helped my balance big time, I had the EA active and it gave me a good workout in an hour for about 25 minutes worth of real exercise. This game on the other hand beats the hell out of me and I love it! In thirty minutes I am good to go with my increased heart rate, strength training, and cardio. The first time it was tough for me to get 50%, now I do 75% plus or higher. The lighting and contrast was easily fixed on my behalf and it helped recognize me significantly. The fact that it sometimes doesn't recognize me is because I'm not doing the exercise correct and when I do, it does. Please make sure you follow her moves, not copy or mimic, there is a big difference! It really is that simple; don't let anyone else's review fool you. The other reviewers gave up quickly because unfortunately in today's world it's now, now, now and they want it to be perfect and easy right away. Well, anyone who has really worked out knows it takes perseverance and patience. The longer I work at these the better I get, gee imagine that! The game is now starting to tailor to the exercises that I am good at and dismissing some of the others that I just plain suck at, which is great. I'm getting buff because it's asking me whether I want to burn or build strength and me being a Macho Man (hah!)of course I want to build strength and have I ever. No joke, I could not do one push up at first, well hell I was 280! Now I can do ten plus without hesitation, I actually had to do some on my knees at first, how freaking sad is that! The fact that I can bench myself now is amazing to me. Fat Man is turning into Macho Man! Seriously, I can see huge differences in my upper body strength and the girlfriend loves it! Ladies you can choose the burn option for less strength building if you're paranoid that you'll look like the incredible hulk, which is BS anyway unless your on steriods.I could write a book about how great this game is! Now I never had my fitness coach but if I would have known that it compared to this, I would have happily switched from my EA Active. EA as said before was great at first compared to Wii Fit, EA Active actually got me to perspire. Your Shape is significantly dominate to EA Active as I didn't mind the strap and controls but it sure is nice to be free of them. Plus if you want to lose belly fat then just tell the game and it will concentrate on it, plus give you an entire body workout at the same time. It will also cutomize it everyday based on how your feel that day, if you want to work out like a gorillia, it will be happy to oblige or if you feel like crap it will take it easy on you.To sum it up if you're hesitant because of the other reviews, don't be. If you want a workout that will really get you moving, then go for it. But have patience with yourself and the rewards will be seen shortly. Also be prepared to really workout and move your body or as Jenny says "Doesn't it feel good to really use your body" and YES it does! If you're not ready to go beyond the typical workout and really challenge yourself then don't bother because you will be wasting your money and time. Best workout game hands down and I really feel like it might be the standard for the next few years.Side notes: I still use my own resistant bands that I purchased separately for EA Active, I just tell the game I have free weights and substitute. Also if you're a guy and thinking about this, go for it and yeah it's designed for women, but I knew this and I just adjusted it for me by flexing when moving my arms and adding heavier weights and other strength building concepts and I am still feeling the burn three weeks later. Don't get it if you're self-conscious of how other people will view you, my guy friends all make fun of me when I tell them I do aerobics with Jenny Macarthy, but I just beat them all in arm wrestling last Saturday night! One guy even asked me about this game afterwards. LOL It reminds me of that deodorant- Strong enough for a Man, but PH balanced for a woman.
