Used this to correct the Ram design flaw of plastic oil filter components. It threaded perfectly to the replacement filter and is working great. A must have for a 68RFE transmission.

I would say depending on what filter you purchase sometimes they come with this metal fitting along with the filter. I ended up with two.

The filter is loose when screwed onto this adapter. This may make the filter leak and cause poor filtration. It’s not worth taking a chance on using.

The adapter is loose when screwed onto a filter. Save yourself the $17 of a headache and by the PPI filter for $27 that comes with a removable adapter that is better quality.
