When plugged in, this elliptical machine has manual and automatic modes. The automatic mode seems to automatically speed up as you use it. This elliptical machine can provide very little resistance or a higher level depending on your needs. I have unstable knees so there are a lot of exercise machines I can't use, but this doesn't hurt my knees. I appreciate that there are easier settings so I can use this. You can either adjust the settings on the machine directly or using the remote. The remote requires AAA batteries.

The Zakle under desk elliptical is a fantastic addition to my daily routine, but my unit had a small defect. Some of the locks weren't in place properly, which causes a bit of noise during use. I managed to fix a couple of them, but there's still a small gap that I couldn't close completely. Despite that, it works great otherwise! The machine offers a lot of options, including 12 adjustable speeds and both manual and auto modes, making it easy to switch up workouts. It's also quiet enough to use while working or watching TV, and the compact size makes it easy to store when not in use.Overall, it's a solid piece of equipment that gets the job done, but I do wish the assembly was a bit smoother.

Great under the desk machine that makes you feel terrible at how little calories your tornado spinning legs are burning.Sigh...I went at this for a solid minute RRRRRRR gogogogo for fun (the video is too large for whatever reason to upload, was too funny trying to burn it out at max speed) and as you see in the pictures I burned NOTHING caloric wise ha. It's ..sigh.. discouraging to be honest. But the machine works! doing it's job fine. A few small notes however:1) On high grandma's ankles will snap off, probably should start her slow.2) Sitting only. Stand on this and it will make your hospital visit for 2 ankle casts hilarious - for the doctors.3) You are kinda sorta exercising but not really. Let's face facts - this is legs only and additional exercise rather than dedicated only for fitness. You won't lose 34 pounds using just this. But it will improve grandma (on slow!) circulation in her bad legs as she never walks around, get the blood flowing that type of thing.Proper workout? Pff. My legs are killing me after a proper 10 minute session here, so you doing this all day is not going to happen - it's repeated movement sitting so the same muscle group that gets taxed sadly I feel it in two side tendons going Gustav Ditters on this. However the machine itself isn't bad, does do a job, does it well in fact and WILL help as supplementary exercise helping hand if you are stuck sedentary at a desk all day, or get some blood moving (on slow) for people that don't move around a lot like the elderly. It's not intrusive and a great add-on!
