In addition to weekend and vacation feeding, Plankton Banquet is a great daily food source for problem feeders such as Plecostomus, Algae Eaters, Redtail Sharks, Gouramis, Saltwater Tangs, Angels, Damsels. Original Banquet blocks are also useful for small fry which do best when constantly feeding. The blue color in this block is pure spirulina. Spirulina is blue green plant plankton rich in raw protein and major vitamins. Research has shown that fresh and saltwater fish exhibit superior growth, maturity, energetic behavior and more elegant coloring when fed spirulina.

The product is fine when we first bought it, but when trying to reorder the wrong package kept arriving. The Mini Banquet Block Feeders come in two different types, one is original and one is plankton, since those words are left out of the title, the wrong item kept arriving despite Amazon's customer service assuring us it would be corrected. The product itself (mini original) is great for small guppies to feed on when we're away for a few days.

Zoo Med Laboratories Mini Banquet Block Feeders. Good quality for this type. Better than larger vacation feeders that often cloud the water. Once in a while I stock up on these. Keeps your catfish and other bottom-dwellers happier.

My Molly's and straight tail i think it's called like it. It new i to use the feeder for them to have since they eat all day. Then use blood words 4 time a week twice a day for snack time lol snack time I got some fish!!!

Ok so, it is not for catfish and I think that is common sense when it is your fish, you know how they eat.Plecos love it! Other fish loved it too (Molly, Swordtail & Platy). Mine dissolved all the way, all of them.

Have three tropicals, a loach, and a pleco. They didn't die over the weekend, so Yay!No residue was apparent after several uses. Water still super clear.
