In addition to weekend and vacation feeding, Original Banquet is a great daily food source for problem feeders such as Plecostomus, Algae Eaters, Redtail Sharks, Gouramis, Saltwater Tangs, Angels & Damsels. Original Banquet blocks are also very useful for small fry which do best when constantly feeding. Now with high protein micro pellets, which makes it great for bottom feeders. Do not use this product in fish bowls or aquariums which do not have aeration or filtration. Original Banquet blocks will not cloud water.

My fish didn’t like it

I have 2 aquariums, 1 at 20 gallons, and one at 55 gallons, and needed vacation food while we were away. The 20-gallon one worked quite nicely, the block lasted about 11 days as advertised, and the fish were healthy. The 55-gallon one was different. The block dissolved completely in about 6/7 (it says 10-14 days on the back) and if it was not for my neighbor checking, the fish would have died from starvation. As it was, I had an extra smaller block and the neighbor used that. The fish survived, were quite wealthy and seemed to be well fed.I will buy it again and will use it again, but I'll also have the neighbor check on it and will have a spare handy for the larger aquarium. Again, no issues with the smaller 20-gallon one whatsoever. It's certainly good to have.

I have 2 plekos, 2 catfish, and 5 mollies and they all enjoyed this! It lasted longer than a gel-like competitor product and was easier to reintroduce after being removed from the tank.Only issue i had was that I use an electronic vacuum for the rocks and although the product itself didnt create residue from feeding when i did my vacuuming after using the product it was very noticeable and closed the water because the sock filter couldn't filter it well because of how small the particles are and i ended up doing a 70% water change after my usual vacuuming. However, because this product is only intended for short term and occasional use instead of as a general feeding the benefits paid off in the end and i will be buying it again when i need another one.

Purchased for a 7-day vacation for one extremely giant angel fish. He was still alive when we returned, and half of the food product was still left at the bottom and would have lasted if we were away longer.

My 35 gal aquarium light is on a timer. When the light comes on, I feed my fish. This is great for most of the year, but late spring and early summer I am out of the house more than in and not always there when the light turns on. With the Banquet tablet in the tank I know the fish have food until I get home and all the fish like it. Also great for weekends away or holidays - not that that is happening due to COVID-19.

Well my plecos did enjoy these banquet blocks and they lasted almost a week in each tank. My plecos are around 10 inches each, in separate tanks. What I did not enjoy was the pleco poop from these blocks! The poop turned pink and was heavy. So heavy that it would not be sucked up by my gravel sucker! It actually freaked my out as it looked like little worms in the gravel sucker as it was suspended there! I had to let it disintegrate longer in the tank, which was annoying, hence the 3-star review. I will stick to buying the blue banquet blocks instead as they don't cause the poop issue for me!

in my goldfish tank with an oversized filter it only lasted about 6 days. I had another one in my 20 gallon tank and it was still there on the 14th day. Very good product and I will purchase these every time I go on vacation.

Worked well, fed my fish and snails without clouding the water. About 50 tiny freshwater snails, a 5 inch pleco, and a fat guppy ate for a week. Ordering again

We dropped this little magical puck into the tank and then left for a blissful vacation (when going on vacation was a thing people did). Upon our return a few days later, we found that one of our fish had learned how to float upside down—motionless—and the other was looking rather unwell. The water was cloudy and the puck looked like it had grown a double (or perhaps triple) chin. Suffice to say, the product did not work as advertised and we would not recommend it. (Update: this review was previously hidden due to the ‘sensitivity filter’—perhaps it is more accurately a ‘truth filter’)
