Quality in Every Detail

Sometimes we give our pliers a really hard time. We try to destroy them to find out what makes them good and long lasting. Because we don't want to leave anything to chance, we take a long, careful look.

The steel Knipex uses is precisely hardened with a maximum of 0.8 percent carbon and defined parts of chromium and vanadium, guaranteeing optimum cutting performance and service life — even though it requires special production and costs a bit more. But our high product demands require this.

The rivet of our high-leverage diagonal cutter also has to stand up to a lot of stress. That's why we literally give it backup: we forge it straight onto the pliers. This means extra effort as we have to precision mill the rivet to a few hundredth millimeters. But satisfied users are worth this effort.

Knipex also looks closely at the small details. The angles, the sharpness, the hardness, the toughness of the cutting edges. The precision and smooth movement of the joint. The handle design and the finish. We keep reviewing these subjects, we research, we test, and we improve our pliers.

Alicate com corte afiado. Desencapa muito bem. É pequeno e ocupa pouco espaço na maleta.

Got it as a gift. The halves do not match each other. Should be OK for casual wiring. But I have no respect to Knipex brand once I saw this.

Like some reviews have said, they do feel smaller in your hand than you might want. Speaking of small though, mesmerized by how much is packed into this single tool; need nose, wire stripper, wire cutter, wire puller. Ridiculous almost, and made out of German steel. Great tool.

most Knipex pliers fit my hand pretty well. I understand that these are meant for smaller gauge work but really they need to be a bit larger. They feel out of proportion as the head and cutters occupy ~50% of the tools length leaving not enough purchase to feel comfortable or apply enough crimping force. I would reserve these for small electronic work and not residential electrical tasks.

These make a great addition to any small toolbox, or for anyone who deals with the most common wire gauges, There are a lot of things I like about these pliers so I will list a few.Likes: the nose isn't perfectly pointed and is instead made a little wider to make more surface area for gripping, the nose of the pliers with the teeth closes with very little internal clearance (helps in grabbing the very small), the cutting edges come together well enough to cut stranded wire, the quick stripper holes are very convenient.Dislike: it was a little hard to get as much leverage as I wanted when crimping butt-splices but the anvils aft of the joint help counteract this. That said it's not meant to be a high leverage tool.

I finally decided to treat my self to some higher end tools and decided to add these to the set. The Knipex brand is know for their quality and innovation and these pliers meet that expectation. They're supper tough, grip extremely well, and have convenient wire striping holes in the nose that work just as good as regular wire strips. I also own their cobra pliers and their pliers wrench (which revolutionizes the adjustable wrench IMO). You can't go wrong with Knipex. If your looking to for decent pliers, check out their entire product line and see what they have to offer, you'll be amazed at what you find!
