They get covered in mold. Maybe you need to bury them except just the opening for them to not do that but defeats the purpose of just “plugging” the stem in.

As someone with a variety of plants spread throughout my home, I often struggle to keep up with their differing water needs. This 4PCS Large Clay Plant Watering Globe Set has been a game changer for my larger, thirstier plants that tend to dry out quicker than others. The clay spikes are impressively durable, with a thicker and sturdier feel compared to the fragile glass globes I’ve used in the past. They insert easily into the soil, and the permeable clay provides a steady release of water, keeping my plants hydrated for up to two weeks. Each globe holds a generous 400ml of water, which is enough to tide my plants over until I can resume my watering routine. The set of four arrived securely packaged, with no damage during shipping—a testament to the care taken with this product. These globes not only ensure my plants get the hydration they need but also save me time and effort. Whether you’re a seasoned plant parent or just starting out, this set is a must-have for maintaining healthy indoor or outdoor greenery. Highly recommend!

PRO's:• Larger capacity than the typical straight spike. A full globe lasts ~1 week.• Well made with no visible flaws.CON's:• No instructions provided. The concept of these terracotta spikes is that water will only soak through to soil that is unsaturated, once wet (at equilibrium) the water will remain in the spike until the water in the soil disperses further into the soil or is used by the plant. (Look up Olla watering) For optimal performance, it is actually best to bury the globe into the soil as well. This allows for it to water more uniformly. When the globe is above the soil, it will continue to "sweat" water from the sides which then runs down to the soil around the spike which is already saturated.
Constructive feedback!~

I placed two (@ 250ml each) which last for about a 1 week between waterings.

My husband loves these as they make water plants easier. I think they are a little too big and bulky looking in house plants.
