Works great keeping my head warm in a 78 min 49F dive. I get cold easily. It definitely limits your hearing, so I’d say do your dive briefing before putting it on.

I have been diving cold water for 4 years in the NW part of country. During winter months when water temps drop to around 43* I would get 'brain freeze' type of headache upon entry. I would fade away but took a few minutes. This hood has taken care of the matter to my delight. Great piece of gear. Great purchase. No more head pain in cold water! I posted a picture of my 7mm semi dry suit as it has the same type of liner in it and comparing my diving experiences to others wearing regular wetsuits around here, mine is superior and the thermal capabilities of this orange mesh fabric is the trick. I stay warm in this water with this suit. This hood is equally thermal. Technicians have done divers a great service in using this liner in a hood for cold water diving no doubt.
