This actually makes for better and stronger soldering of wires as they can be placed in a specific way for soldering.

Holding wires together for soldering is not an easy task. Before I got this tool I cobbled together rigs from vice grip pliers and things as a third hand. the spring-loaded clips from this tool do the job enabling a steady close position of the wires. also, pliers can be spread apart to accommodate various splice lengths.Highly recommended
