Can't take the off notes, high screeching or just plain old loud sounds like fingernails along the chalkboard? Get the mute and keep your sanity and your eardrums. It won't cut all of the sound but does muffle enough that it won't have the neighbor's banging on the door checking if someone was being killed.

The trumpet mute did not meet my needs. I wanted a mute that would reduce the volume of my trumpet considerably when playing it at home. It was not any quieter than playing with a Harmon mute. I should return it but I assume the cost of returning it will almost be as much as the purchase cost.

Works as advertised. No matter the register you are playing in, still get the right sound. Good for practicing so not to bother others too much. I practice n the basement and not bad at all. Very light-weight. Good value for the money.
