We have this integrated into our 5000g water fall & pond. The copper ionization is effective against a number of algae types. It has helped with the water quality and has reduced our need for using chemicals. The annual cost of a replacement probe more than offsets the potential cost of chemicals and is better for the environment. We have found that the flow rate of the water pumped through this has an effect on how quickly it cleans the water.

Works well it adjust to water chemistry and turns itself down . It did well on slime algae, but as chemistry changed it turned itself lower. So we had another bloom and had to add chemicals we are in Florida where the water gets hot so I’m now using a blue dye to shield it from the sun .

I use 2 of these probes in my 44,000 gallon swim pond to help control the algae that comes as the water gets warmer. It does a good job. I have each of them set at 4. They are replaced every spring.

The IonGen system is an alternative to using algaecide in the pond. The probe lasts approximately a season, and works very well. I have been using the system for three years now and have no complaints.
