The new "VSX" series also features a centerbolt plate on the back of the blade designed to maintain the optimal torque and help reset the torque properly. Anchored spring won't jump out at you! These secateur’s are amazing! They are super sharp, hold a great edge for a long time, are light, and have a awesome locking system.Only downside is they fit med to smaller hands.But I would easily take these over a pair of felco’s or my go to Bahco’s if they made a larger size! I buy these for all the female gardeners in my life, they truly love them!

Really great pruner, sharp out of the box. The somewhat stiff safety latch, has become easier to disengage with use, while still remaining effective. I have small hands but it fits comfortably in my hand.

The best of the best. Just keeps on going. Extremely sharp and makes for precise cuts. Easy to clean and maintain. The one handed action to open the secateur is intuitive once you get used to it.Plus the price tag drives the missus not leave it in the dirt during gardening!

I’ve been a landscaper and nurseryman for over 15 year, I’ve always used felco’s becuase that is what my company provided. I read many reviews on these pruners describing the quality of the blade and cut. I cannot dissagree, these pruners are hands down, better then any pair of felco’s I’ve ever had (and I’ve tried many). Blade is super sharp, does an amazing job and keeping sharp, even after cutting lots of hardwood. It’s equally as modular and replaceable as felco’s. Squeeze to unlock is the best feature I’ve ever experience on pruners. At first they were hard to squeeze tight enough to unlock, but after several unlocks it becomes easier. After months the locking mechanism is still holding strong. The only time squeeze to unlock doesn’t work is if I’ve been cleaning a bunch of pines and my pruners get covered in sap, easy to fix, but the sticky sap will allow you to squeeze to unlock, but the sticky sap will prevent the pruners from opening, so you have to do it manually. I was unsure about these pruners using a big spring in the middle instead of the kind found on felco’s but it has worked flawlessly. I think the spring will age better then felco’s spring mechanism. With the felco’s spring, it can rust easily and it give lots of resistance, making pruning much more difficult, whereas the spring in these ARS pruners will age much better and won’t give me that issue. The price is amazing!! Super high quality materials, Japanese carbon blade, all for almost $20 cheaper then felco #2. I’m never looking back, and i cannot stop telling my landscaper friends about how awesome these pruners are. Felcos have a larger market share in North America, but its purely based on marketing, ARS pruners are hands down better.

It is so nice to have a tool that does the job right EVERY TIME. Clean cuts, excellent construction. If you're someone who really enjoys working with tools that work well, definitely consider this pruner. One thing, if you have larger hands, the handle on this pruner will be a little too small.

nice and sharp...good product, if you have big hands the VS9Z would be better choice this is definitely on the med to small side

I love the quality of these pruners. I read a review (not on Amazon) that these are at the top of the best pruners money can buy. It sure is once you hold them and use them to cut. I believe there are different sizes in case you have smaller hands. I suggest to check that in case it's important to you.
