- Sulfation occurs when a lead-acid battery is undercharged or left unused for extended periods. Sulfate crystals form on the battery’s lead plates, which can reduce the battery’s ability to hold a charge and shorten its overall lifespan.
- Pulses of electricity, typically high-frequency, low-current pulses, are applied to the battery. These electrical pulses break down the sulfate crystals that have built up on the plates over time.
- As the sulfate crystals are reduced, the lead plates become more effective at conducting electricity, which restores the battery’s capacity to store and deliver power.
- This process also extends the life of the battery because it reverses some of the damage caused by sulfation, a common cause of battery failure.

Worked like a charm!!! I took a chance because my battery was fine except when it was cold. I only had time to do it twice, but it really did the trick. Next morning it was 26 degrees and the car started just like in the summer, and it was fine ever since. I had been having to use a bump starter for weeks before this. It would start it the temp was around 40 or above. Having said all of this...if your battery has a short or dead cell, this won't work. Also, if it is too far gone it won't help. But rather than returning the product, why not keep it and use it on the good batteries that one has and extend the lives of those batteries? I find it discouraging that people pan a product or service when the product is used incorrectly or the service expected was far above what is realistic.Update a couple weeks later and still going strong. There have been several days of 10 or below and my car started great.

I used it on 2 car batteries which were still working, they were down to 350 and 400 cranking amps, but now neither will crank or start the small car engine.

Utilisé en 12v, il fait des impulsions. Branché ensuite sur un jeu de batterie de 48V, à claqué au bout de 2H.Résultat, fusible interne soudé à claqué (repéré FUSE" modèle en verre inconnu et valeur non mentionnée (estimée à 2A)), composant repère R21 (en fait il s'agit d'un condensateur valeur non mentionné (il s'agit d'un condensateur de 10uF mesuré sur un autre module) qui s'est mis en court-circuit, test des autres condensateurs connectés en parallèle donnent une valeur d'isolement de 50V seulement, donc loin des 72V annoncés (peut-être exceptionnellement fragile, ne sais pas). Donc ces composants sont à remplacer et refaire le test pour voir s'il n'y a rien d'autre de défectueux, l'avenir le dira !

The unit brought my batteries for the golf art back to about 85% in a month and a half, i have used this since may and before using this i could drive from one end of the trailer to the other and it would not move again, after a month of using this i can make it around the whole campground or a good half hour, only reason for the 4 stars is the wires are to short to use on the golf cart, i opened up the unit and soldered longer leads on and used some dielectric grease and now this is a part that stays on the cart year round, i do take the ground off when we are not there for a couple of days
