This Battery Tender Cigarette Adapter works great when used with the correct Battery Tender charger. It is designed for use with trickle chargers that have less than 3 amps output. Any greater output could fry the adapter or at least blow the fuse. I use it with a 1.25 amp Battery Tender Plus. Works great. However, Battery Tender makes 8 chargers with higher outputs. Use with these chargers is a folly at best, a fire hazard at worst. Know your charger output before buying this product. Ignore the users that suggest replacing the standard 3-amp fuse with a higher amperage fuse.

This adapter works fine, however be aware that it is designed to work with Battery Tender 3A (or less) chargers.We purchased a Battery Tender 4 amp charger from Costco and bought this cigarette lighter adapter from Amazon. The charger worked fine for a short time, but it eventually blew what turned out to be a 3 amp fuse in this adapter. I reached out to Deltran and they said that this cigarette lighter adapter is NOT designed to be used with their 4 amp charger. One star off for Amazon/Deltran not stating that fact anywhere in the description (as of this date).Otherwise, it works great - with a 3 amp or less Battery Tender Charger.I ended up returning the 4 amp Battery Tender Charger to Costco and purchased the 3 amp model instead.

WE DOUBT MOST OR MANY PEOPLE WHO DESIRE TO MAINTAIN OR CHARGE ANY BATTERY 12 VOLT SYSTEM SHOULD INVESTIGATE THIS ASSESSORY WHICH CONNECTS DIRECTLY TO THIS FIRMS BATTERY TENDER SYSTEMS. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WORKS AS SIMPLY, QUICKLY OR EFFECTIVELY AS THIS DOES, INSTANTLY PLUGGING INTO THE 12VOLT RECEPTACLE WHICH EITHER EXISTS OR CAN BE INSTALLED IN MOST EQUIPMENT. KEY POINT IS TO ASSURE THE RECEPTABLE IS WIRED DIRECTLY TO THE BATTERY SO THAT IF A KEY IS USED TO START THE EQUIPMENT THAT IT MUST BE CONNECTED IN A MANNER WHICH ALLOWS THIS TO CHARGE THE BATTERY WITHOUT NEEDING TO HAVE THE KEY TURNED ON AS IF TO START OR POWER THE ENGINE. MAKE SURE THE RECEPTACLE IS WIRED DIRECTLY SO THAT THE KEY MUST NOT BE IN THE ON POSITION TO POWER THE RECEPTACLE (THE ABILITY TO POWER ANY 12 VOLT UTILITY FROM THE RECEPTACLE. IF IT WORKS WITHOUT THE KEY ON THEN IT WILL ALSO ALLOW YOU TO TEND/CHARGE THE BATTERY DIRECTLY WITHOUT NEEDING THE KEY TURNED ON. great ASSESSORY WHICH WE ARE USING TO CHARGE OUR LARGE TRACTOR/MOWER/SNOWBLOWER. WORKS FLAWLESSLY AND WITHOUT ANY HARDSHIPS.

worked for about 3 minutes and stopped transferring power. Unable to buy fuses locally for it. Spring inside of poor quality.

This little neat tool lives in my battery tender pouch, and I use it for keeping the odometer and radio stations and clock when changing batteries. I live in AZ so with 4 cars it seems like I'm always changing batteries. On most cars you have to turn to accessories, 1st click, plug this in, and then change the battery. Great quality as all the other battery Tender products. I can highly recommend all the models. My favorite is the water proof 800ma...that thing is indestructible! I've accidentally run it over with my truck, no damage! Also, get a 6 or 12' extension, they are cheap and SO handy! BTW, the 800 works overseas 120-240 with just a cheap plug changer....my dad keeps one in his humid garage and always plugs the cars in during the winter! NEVER a starting problem.
