This is my second automated corkscrew. I’ve waited to review this one until I’ve used it many many times. It works wonderfully well today just as it did when it came to our home. I highly recommend this article.

This thing is absolutelly increadible. Takes 2-5 seconds to remove the cork and having on the table besides the bottle! Very sturdy construction too!

I was inspired by a movie — where the main character drank a lot of wine on the daily and had one of these handy corkscrew openers. (“The woman in the house across the street from the girl in the window”).This thing is really the bomb for easy opening of those stubborn corks in your wine. Means you can roll through a couple bottles of hooch quite quickly with this tool for easy access to the booze.Highly recommend. Thanks Amazon.

We had this for 3 years (which I admit isn't too bad), used it roughly once a week to open corked wine bottles. We loved this opener, it was always a conversation piece when guest were over and it is fun to use. Then one day, the handle snapped, I guess after around 170 bottles or so. They use cheap, a thin white-metal cast part inside of the handle. My wife loves it and probably we'll end up ordering another. I do recommend, but be careful when using it and prepared for it to eventually snap.

I was surprised it came with no instructions but it doesn't take long to figure it out. I have arthritis in my hands and have a hard time opening wine, but with this, it just makes it so easy to use and it looks great on my wine bar.

I had to replace a similar wine bottle opener when, after several years of use, the mechanism finally failed and could not be repaired. This unit is perhaps not as fancy, but it works exactly as advertised! The learning curve was straight forward and it opens wine bottles almost effortlessly. The cutter to remove the top foil or plastic shrink wrap on the wine bottle also seems to work well. The reason I gave only 4 stars for 'giftable' is that the opener arrived without any packaging except for a soft-sided paper envelope - something that I don't think you could pass on. Nevertheless, you could put it in another box, wrap it, and gift it, and the recipient would not be disappointed! Similarly, for sturdiness, it seems fairly robust, but time will tell if it is as sturdy as other similar models. If you are looking for an inexpensive, functional, and attractive wine bottle opener, this is it!

I would have rated this product highly for it's efficiency and ease of use, until it broke in my hand. It appeared to be a high quality well designed opener. Unfortunately the zinc alloy construction is not strong enough for its intended purpose. It is brittle and will not stand up to the force needed to pull a wine cork. I see other users have had the same experience. This is not a cheap item and I expected more durability.
