If I could, would give less than ZERO stars. When I first bought this trimmer, I remember the original "Auto-Feed-System" not working well, but my gas trimmer died, so I pulled my B&D out of the garage. Hoping (my first mistake because "hope" is not a strategy) B&D had improved design over the years, and hoping that negative reviews were from folks who just were not "handy", I rolled the dice and purchased this defectively engineered product. First, my apologies for not believing every negative review out there as I'm sure you are all very "handy", and even more so than myself. Installed easily enough. Gauge of string is OBVIOUSLY way too small, such that it spits ALL of itself out in about 5 minutes of trimming. And that is after having to cut with scissors every 10 seconds to keep string from unwinding completely and tangling in the motor-hub itself (which it did one time and I had to forcibly remove). product was installed properly (only goes on "properly" one way). I have worked with all sorts of trimmers: gas, electric, bump, self-feeding, manual change, etc... DO NOT WASTE MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT! IF THIS IS HOW BLACK AND DECKER TREATS CUSTOMERS, AND IT IS IMPOSSIBLE THEY ARE UNAWARE OF THIS DEFECT, PUT YOUR MONEY TOWARDS A NEW TRIMMER WITH A DIFFERENT COMPANY.

Replacement spools fit my Black and Decker as searched many brick and mortar stores and couldn't find the right fit.
