I was able to find a third party seller on Amazon that was from the US (not China or Hong Kong) so it was delivered in just a few days. It does exactly what it is supposed to do. I use it to share a network cable with two devices - just insert the network source in one end and one of the devices in the other. One caution - while removing one of the cables, the plastic housing came apart in the center so i had to snap it back together - not a big deal. I may put a piece of electrical tape around it or perhaps some glue to secure the two ends. You would think the manufacturer could spare a tiny speck of glue to secure the two halves.

Let's face it the only reason you get this product is the utility it provides in getting you a longer ethernet cable by linking two together. This saves you on having to remove an existing cable and run another one, which depending on your network can save you a ton of time. In my case I had a 50 foot cable that was just a few feet short of what I needed, and it was going through a basement and a home office, so re-running the cable just wasn't practical, and for next to nothing I got this and added a 5 foot cable and was set. For the price and convenience, these things are great! Even if most people are on wireless networks, these things work great in a pinch.Pros:PriceUtility & ConvenienceCons:Doesn't help you if you're using wireless networks exclusively

This item serves its intended purpose exactly as it should; it works.A product like this will never be certified for Cat6 or Cat5e, and it should not be used in a permanent link. I'd even find it quite distasteful if it were used for days in a row outside the permanent link rather than finding a properly sized patch cord. But it works in a pinch. And I have one place where the RJ-45 jacks in the wall are inaccessible because the TV stand is almost against them. One has a cable permanently attached to the TV, and since I cannot get to the other jack without a fight, I just extended it to under the stand so that a port is available on the rare occasion when I need it; to me it is better than another hole in the wall (but I have other options as well). Also to note is that it is hardly wider than a RJ-45 plug, unlike some I've seen.

Couplers for Cat 5 and 5e network cables usually cost much more than this Cables to Go coupler from this vendor. I'm using this coupler to join a couple of Cat 5e cables that are transmitting HDMI 1080p signals, via a pair of converters, also available from Amazon, from a DirecTV receiver to a HD TV about 90 feet away. The coupler works fine, especially considering the high data rate. I'm very pleased with this inexpensive coupler. The only minor downside is that the coupler was shipped directly from the supplier in China, so shipping took a few days longer than is usual for typical Amazon purchases.
