Infortunately the other negative reviews are accurate.I received mine today. The ultra thin formed tin nut is uesless. It came off, stripping the switch. I hadn't even put it in yet. With some pipe thread tape and a few feet of electrical tape, it was installed. HOWEVER, there was no On-Off stops. It felt like a volume control??I decided to hook up the battery anyway.Good news! The battery box lights came on!BAD news. When I turned it to the off position.... the battery box lights was still on. It did nothing?Garbage....

The switch works well, good visible ON oFF markings. But, the NuT is a weak bent sheet metal that will have a short life for sure. And it would be a great idea to include/add a Gasket so the edge under the switch can be sealed against any water leaks. I just used silicone .

Easily installed and works very well. I installed it on a tractor as an alternative to connecting and disconnecting the negative cable to prevent a slow but continuous leakage of current draining the battery.I used a 1 1/2" metal pipe clamp to fasten it to the tractor. I am very pleased with this device since I did not have much success with the on-off knob device that attaches to the negative terminal

Works as advertised. Only con is the nut on the back that holds it in place is like a thin piece of tin and can’t be screwed in super snug, but plenty snug to hold it in place when switching it on and off. Hope it doesn't become a problem in the future. I like how small and low profile it is.

I recently installed the Battery Disconnect Switch in my off-road vehicle to better manage the power supply and to have an emergency cut-off option. I must say, the switch has mostly lived up to my expectations. It’s well-built and the operation is straightforward with a clear ON-OFF marking, making it user-friendly.The compatibility with a wide range of voltages (12-48V) is a great feature, showcasing its versatility across different vehicle types. The 100A continuous and 150A intermittent ratings are sufficient for my usage, effectively handling the power flow without any hitches.Installation was relatively easy, though a more detailed instruction manual would have been appreciated for those less versed in electrical setups. Once installed, the switch action is smooth and firm, providing a solid feel of engagement and disengagement. The compact design is a plus, not taking up much space yet easily accessible when needed. It has added a level of safety and control over the electrical system in my vehicle, which is reassuring. However, there’s a slight room for improvement regarding the terminal coverings, as they could be more robust to ensure absolute safety, especially in a rugged off-road environment. All in all, the Battery Disconnect Switch is a competent device for anyone looking to enhance the electrical management and safety of their vehicle, earning a solid 4-star rating. The minor tweak with terminal coverings could propel this to a flawless 5-star rating. Nonetheless, it’s a worthy investment for the peace of mind and control it offers.

Spend an extra few bucks and get a high quality switch like the Fastronix 300A 1/2" Severe Duty Battery Disconnect Switch with Face Plate. This cheap item was installed in our camper and was first used on a 13-day camping trip from 14-28 Sep 2023. The switch failed during the first week of use and could have injured me as a result, as I was troubleshooting why devices were receiving power with the master switch in the off position. The switch is supposed to KILL POWER from the battery bank. After returning home, I tested the switch and it correctly passes full voltage in the on position. It ranges from 6V to 13V passing through the switch when in the OFF position, which is a DANGEROUS condition for an RV battery bank. Have sent a message to the manufacturer and do not expect a response. Other issues with this cheap switch are the ridiculously thin backing nut (covered in other reviews), switch rotates easily after installed, the hole size had to be filed out to get the switch to fit (is some odd I guess foreign hole saw bit size), and did I mention, it failed so quickly.
