After trying several carburetors ordered off of Amazon, some that when installed I could not get the craftsman LT 1000 lawn tractor to start. Tried this one, tractor started with no problems, runs great through the full range of throttle control, no sputtering, etc. Finally found one that works.

Was the perfect size model everything I needed for my lawn tractor to replace the old carburetter set. Can’t wait to get started on the lawn this year with it. Test wrote it and it runs fine.Thank you Amazon. We’re happy for the great deal and the great price.

I used this to replace the carb on my lawn tractor. The engine still run’s rough but it’s old and I think it’s got other issues.Update at Oct 14 2024: There was gas in the oil so I took the carb apart. The float needle had a little corrosion on it which I believe held it open causing the engine to flood with gas. I had this happen to an import carb I put on a quad aswell but that needle corroded much worse in a couple of week’s. I wonder if they are building these with inferior metals or some kind of coating that react’s with the gas. I’ll keep an eye on it and knock of 1 star for now.

Fit perfectly and runs great! The fuel solenoid spring is on the weak side, so I replaced it with the original with no issues.

Other than the gasket being the wrong size, it was perfect. Lawnmower repair is so much easier now with carbs this cheap. Haven’t cleaned a carb in years. This was installed on a mower that had been sitting for several years. Fired up immediately after installing. No adjusting required.

I bought it to replace the carburetor on my Craftsman riding lawn mower (EZ3, 15.5Hp, 42" mower, Model: 917.270612) with Briggs and Stratton engine. It is about the same size as original except the fuel inlet line is a little below the original carburetor. However, it fits well. The replacement takes about 30 minutes and can be easily done with simple tools such as ratchet and right-sized sockets. On cold days, it takes longer to get the engine started but I am comfortable with the delay.

Fit great on 17 hp craftsman mower and ran good out of box with no adjustment. Needed to cut small piece off of plastic throttle lever because it barely hit the air box. Comes with fuel line and gaskets

ORIGINAL POST:Don't know if it works yet - spent the time I had to work on it today figuring out how to rewire my engine to accommodate the solenoid on this carb. My original carb solenoid had one wire - a power wire - and the solenoid was internally grounded. The solenoid on this carb has a small receptacle with two small pins. And there is no adapter in the kit to fit the receptacle. If your engine has a two-wire setup with a small plug that will fit the two-pin receptacle on the solenoid, you might be home free. I ended up 'making' a 2-wire plug to fit the receptacle by cutting down a connector on a computer power supply cable. The solenoid clicks when I apply power (and ground) with the carb unmounted, so I figure it will also work when I get the carb mounted. If you're involved with this carb and don't know, one of the two wires to the solenoid is for power when you turn the ignition on and the other wire is for ground. Doesn't seem to matter which wire is which as the solenoid is not internally grounded.I'll follow up with how the carb functions after I get it installed and up and running.FOLLOW-UPCompleted the installation using a homemade solenoid connector. Everything (other than the solenoid connector that I had to rig) fit perfectly. The engine started instantly and ran fine - for a minute or so. Then it began to spray oil out of the crankcase breather hose into the air-cleaner housing. MY FAULT! I had neglected to check the engine oil level before starting the engine, and it turned out that my original faulty carburetor had allowed gasoline to overflow the carb, diluting the oil with gasoline and overfilling the crankcase. I shut it down (it was still trying to run), drained the gasoline-oil mixture out of the crankcase, replaced it with new oil, and cleaned up the mess. The engine then started instantly and runs fine. Great carburetor. I limited my review to 4 stars because the solenoid connector was not compatible with my engine and there was no adapter for it in the kit.Don't forget to check your engine oil for gasoline contamination if you are replacing a faulty carb.
