Worked out great on an old claw foot tub, also used the elbow fiittings that you will most likely see matched to it along with new lines, my daughter says all working good and its been a few months now

The pictures shown with the handles angled downward is actually the “closed” position, and you have to lift the handle “up” into a horizontal position to open the valve…I suspect the cartridges were installed opposite of where they should be (horizontal should be closed and downward angle should be open)Of course, it was after squeezing into a match box, while standing on our head, to install on a clawfoot tub with 5” clearance from the wall, that this was discovered…lucky usOther than that, the shower stem screwed right in, without any adapters, and the product itself is good quality for the price
